Guillermo del Toro confirms he will not be collaborating with Kojima on Silent Hills

Officially buying MGSV used, fuck off forever Konami.

Decided on this after he whole Kojima thing. So yeah, this just makes that decision stick for me.
Fuck konami...
Castlevania, Contra, Hudson Soft, KojiPro, Silent Hills. Fuck em.

Quite fitting that this shit company is pulling P.T. from PSN at the end of the month as well. :-/

This one is damn good!

Hey, Konami. You were cool. Remember when you did all those cool things?

I feel empty inside. Well, time to move on, I guess.

So, are we all on-board the Used-MGSV train?

Of course not.

This is a quality game that's like five years in the making.

I don't care what happens after it ,but this game will clearly be worth the support.

Its not like Konami committed a mass genocide or something.

Such bullshit. I've wanted to play a good Silent Hill game in HD for so long, and now that the best chance of that happening was tossed...

Fuck Konami.

Honestly, after the whole Kojima situation I figured this was going to happen. I hope a lot of people felt the same way so they were prepared to be letdown. It's beyond upsetting regardless, too good to be true apparently.

So Konami's console department dies.

Good riddance. Literally squandered an entire company lineup of popular franchises. Something that senseless doesn't deserve life.

It's almost comical that Konami had so much going for this project.

PT reception was absolutely incredible. Del Toro is talented. They have a fantastic engine inhouse and the capable staff at KojiPro to do something great.

And yet here we are. Some things are just too good to be true....I guess.

How would buying MGSV used help? Yeah, Konami won't make as much money but after all Kojima and his team have done this is what he gets? Nah, I think we should show KojiPro as much support as possible.
It's KojiPro's game, not Konami's. I don't care who officially owns it.
:[

Which one? Silent Hill? Castlevania? Contra? Zone of Enders? Goemon? Parodius? Suikoden?

...oh God.

I know right? A good part of my childhood will lie forever buried with those other amazing series.

And Konami just stays quiet about this.

I have many Japanese friends that I've known for years so I kind of understand the Japanese culture to a certain degree. But I still don't understand how they can apologize for everything, even the weather, just to "save face", and then stay quiet when they should really be apologizing for messing up like in this situation.

I mean I expected this, but seeing the confirmation from Del Toro is a punch in the gut.

P.T. was pure magic and a true bless for a genre that I don't really care for at all anymore. A damn, damn shame.

You done goofed, Konami. Pushing away your best talent in Kojima and now Del Toro. And for fucking what? We have no idea what they're even doing over there.

In one week we now say "Valve" and "Konami" in the same sentence and with the same disdain as "EA" and "Ubisoft". It's just nuts.
Vavle? What happened?
EA has good CS though. And Rainbow six looks amazing.

This sucks, it would have been a gem.

I have to ask off topic/on topic: why does del toro have a "greasy heart"? What does this mean?

I'm buying MGSV new to support Kojima and his team. As for anything else Konami related afterwards... nope

And I don't think they honestly care how their fans view them. I DO hope people give them a cold shoulder at E3 (except for Koji Pro's guys of course).

I believe they are speaking of the mod monetization on Steam Workshop while not allowing donation features directly to the the modders (this circumventing the hefty cuts Valve and Bethesda take).

Donation links are still allowed. Its meaningless anyway, no one actually donates.

just buy out Konami Sony
then fire everyone
then keep the IPs

I'm probably just dreaming at this point, but is it possible someone could take advantage of this situation and buy the IP away from Konami? Everyone knows there's demand for it.

....are you listening Verendus....
