This is a great deal.

I recently got a MK7 code bundled with my n3DS, so I copies the save file from my cart to the download version, and traded in my cartridge for £11.

You traded in your cartridge for £11?? Why didn't you sell it for twice that (at least)?

Because I didn't have any buyers to hand. I've generally had a lot of headaches and time wasted with selling games through the mail, whereas I could easily trade it in at CEX.

Not really on-topic but I’m sticking this here as it’s a UK only product and some of you might have experience with it…….

A friend in work was talking about some of the old arcade games he used to play when he was a kid. I threw a couple on my Nexus 7 to show him as I thought he’d appreciate the nostalgia kick and he now wants a tablet of his own to scratch his retro-itch! Nexus 7 was a bit on the pricey side for him so how is the Tesco Hudl2 for stuff like this? I’m guessing it would be powerful enough to play anything up to SNES/Mega Drive and old arcade stuff like Simpsons, Turtles, Wrestlefest etc? Can they easily be rooted so he can connect a DS3/4 with Sixaxis manager?

If this is no good, any suggestions on a good Android tablet around the £100 mark? I only suggested the Hudl2 as it looks like it hits a sweet spot between specs, size and screen quality

Hudl2 is pretty good, almost got one until Amazon put the HDX on sale over Christmas. If you don't mind grade A refurbished, this is much more powerful and has a better screen if 10" isn't a problem: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-G...Tablet-16GB-Wi-Fi-White-Grade-A-/381212421275 RDC are a large IT recycling centre, they're legit. They've also got a 1st gen Nexus 7 for £50, which Isn't as good as the Hudl2, but Lollipop has killed it for now.

The Tab 2 works fine out of the box, but I'd personally shove CM12 on it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/10-inch-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-cm12-t2997928

EDIT: Totally missed that they had a Tab 3 8" for £85!

The numbered samsung tabs really aren't worth it - subpar specs with touchwiz slowing them down. Having owned a 10.1 tab 2, it's slow(as were other tablets at the time)[even with cm12] & the tab 3&4 aren't that much of an improvement compared to the alternatives which were released at the time. The pro& Tab S are good buys but they're more expensive since they're newer as well.

Tried Argos again and this time the machines let me reserve the PlayStation Plus for collection next Monday through Wednesday.

A step in the right direction.

Thanks for all the advice on tablets folks. Don't think he's particularly fussed about it being a nexus or specs in general. The guy doesn't even have internet in his house so all he's going to use the thing for is emulating some really old games so as long as the specs are enough for that he's happy and £109 was the budget he gave me

For the £100 price point I'd go with this http://www.johnlewis.com/lg-g-pad-8...pdragon-android-8-0-wi-fi-16gb-black/p1757061(as it's on sale) over the hudl.

What makes you recommend this over the Hudl2 out of interest? Hudl seems to have twice the ram and 50% higher PPI for the same price which is why I assumed it was a good buy

Oh wow,I really messed up - wasn't aware of the hudl2(It wasn't released when I was tablet shopping in september) & assumed it was £120(hudl 2 was £130 initally apparently),was thinking of the hudl1's specs .The other guy was recomending stuff like the tab 2 10.1 with custom roms(Too much of a headache with video drivers&app compatibility and not needed for modern devices imo.) which isn't even in the same class as the hudl 1 tbh... Just looked the 2 up & yeah it seems better in terms of specs. The hudl 1 felt cheap& the display model wasn't zippy with a sub par camera. LG's software on 4.4 is great - double tap(only Sony products have this, but only for waking iirc) to wake/sleep & multi-window are features which I didn't think I'd use but they're so convenient. Not sure about what Tesco put on the hudl but other than the apps it looks stock which can only be good for the speed&app compatibility. The 1080p screen though is a dealbreaker though,I can't believe they managed to include it in a £100 tablet! I'd definitly go for the hudl2(at this price point) despite the LG software making it great - unless you're hardcore gaming the processors will remain adequate imo but the hudl2 is definitly more futureproof.

Cheapest place for an xbox one pad?

One the "x" button is stuck.
On my second one I have the left stick drift up :(

Unless you've been taking really bad care of them, this shouldn't happen. You should be able to get that repaired/replaced for free if you still have your warranty, which is guaranteed to be minimum two years by EU regulations.

coolshop.co.uk has Mario Kart 7 UK eSHop codes for £13.96 here.

Would they work in EU - specifically Ireland? Anyone used UK codes in EU eShop before?

They only ship to the UK, so if you're in mainland Europe, will they send you the code via email, or cant you buy this at all? I'm really interested in this deal.

Not a deal, but probably something UK Amazon purchasers ought to be aware of:

About Changes to FREE Super Saver Delivery

Our FREE Super Saver Delivery service is changing. From 1 May, 2015, orders including £10 or more of books qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery. All orders of £20 or more across any product category also qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery. Previously, a £10 threshold applied for all orders to qualify for FREE Super Saver Delivery.

So, you'll only get free delivery if you spend £20 now, when it used to be £10. Unless you're buying books.

It looks like they actually physically send the code. There's no way to add an address outside of the UK, so I guess you'd be out of luck elsewhere.

It was £25 minimum like 10 or 15 years ago, then eventually became no minimum, and now they're increasing it again.

We even had free shipping to Belgium (and probably some more countries too) for quote a while with a minimum of £15 or £20 (don't even remember, lol) spent. They cut that down first.

After that they increased the minimum amount needed to get free delivery on Amazon Germany and France too.

Cheap shipping days are over. They need the money for them drones...

i have a feeling amazon has started to slowly fall out with royalmail, i've noticed in the last couple months anything i've ordered on free shipping has come by logistics like small things such as a game or blu-ray, usually it's just heavy books that came by logistics

The obvious solution is that instead of buying Call of Duty this year, you should buy a book about army dudes who love killing people.

This is ridiculous. So stupid when a £9.99 item made you pay delivery...let me pay an extra penny for it and get free delivery instead?

Now gotta make up £20? I'll be shopping elsewhere, don't know of any place that charges shipping on games aside from CEX.

I was going to ask why you don't get Prime but it's £80 a year in the UK? The hell? It's 49€ in Germany normally and I pay 24€ because I'm a student.

Yep. Damn I didn't realise we were getting ripped off with it that badly. I mean it is £40 if I sort out Student Prime but that is still considerably a lot more. I think they forced the price up by adding Instant Video which is a service I have no desire using ever.
