Huh. Now that you mention it, they only mentioning joining friends for unranked. That sucks. If you're in the same "range" I don't see why they wouldn't let you join friends. I can see them wanting to bar a C player from joining an A match, but if it's close, why not allow it?

It appears so. The app is called global test fire so at that point it kind of was expected

The one thing I'm still not super clear on is whether or not we can use the Wii U Pro controller as the main controller or not. It seems like a safe assumption, but I've yet to see it explicitly said.
