Did Black Bolt and Maximus have a falling out? Just going through Avengers/New Avengers and it seems like the two were best bro. Even got to the point where BB pretty much pushed Maximus into the Illuminati. Eight months later, BB pretty much don't care that Maximus was going to get nuked.
Maximus freeing Thanos from captivity and joining the Cabal was a big no-no. Especially when you think about what Thanos did in Infinity.

I really hope Ultimate Reed survives this.
Him and Ultimate MJ deserve a happy ending, damn it if anyone deserves a happy ending it's them.
Make Ultimate Peter's story the new origin for Peter and then use that to bring back the marriage or something.
That's probably a terrible idea, lol.
But if they could just retire in the new Marvel universe that might be nice.

On the subject, if I understand correctly, Maker actually got the idea for and build his raft in the seconds right before the dome opened, right?

It's difficult to say. He was working on something for the entire issue, then after the raft launched he claimed he learnt something, something to do with things refusing to die. If he wasn't building his own raft for that entire time I've got to wonder what he was doing.

That makes no sense from a story telling perspective though, why would she leave Reed? Just because Doom saved her? If that was all it took she would have left him for Namor years ago. It takes a lot more than that to break up a relationship.

Remember how I said "I feel like I'm the only one reading Uncanny Xmen?" It completely blows your argument to shreds.
This was maybe a half dozen issues ago. The X-men asked SHIELD for help containing a dangerous mutant and got the most massive "fuck you" possible. Not only did the establishment ignore Hank's call for help, they sent helicarriers to nuke the mutant along with the X-men off the face of the planet- and this is exactly what they did, killing scott and magik in the process.
And this is only one of about a dozen "human establishment vs. mutants" events that happened during that run, and it's barely 40 issues long. Were you aware that SHIELD was revealed to be the ones constructing Sentinels to hunt and kill X-men all this time? No? i didn't think so.
When people say "Scott Summers was right" what do you think they're referring to?

I didn't say they still weren't shoehorning in. I said it wasn't that good when they did it/do it, and a lot of the best stories don't have much to do with that metaphor. Or at least they're not the compelling reason to read those stories.

I mean, I wasn't even coming at the man sideways. Nor did he really address the point I was making. I didn't say the metaphor had gone non-existent. I said it's not the primary reason anyone reads the book, or pays attention to the X-Men so much anymore. And that the metaphor (such as it's shifted over the years to encompass other various things) isn't often applied all that evenly, anyway. To the point where the rumor being floated wouldn't be all *that* disruptive.
When I talk to people about comic books (and supehero shit in general) I don't actively try to make people look like assholes and feel stupid for having engaged in the medium. And when there's disagreements, I don't get muddy about it until dirt's already been kicked. I don't think there's a lot of that you can hang on me. I'm not gonna say there isn't any shit on my shoes, no. But Manmade is hip deep in dookie pretty fuckin' frequently in this regard.

The "Scott Summers is a terrorist/scott summers is a revolutionary/scott summers is right" plotline literally depends on it, and it was a running theme through AvX before that. The Avengers were a stand in for the human community that did not care/did not trust the mutant population to handle it's affairs.

that's a good question- best explanation I can come up with was that at that point they weren't on friendly terms and lots of them (wolverine, iceman) would have killed him rather than shake his hand.
nicknames (Cyclops) or just his first name (Scott) might have felt too familiar? I dunno.

I imagine when they're doing that they're thinking: Scott Summers, Scott Fucking Summers.It's a way of distancing themselves from him. Or maybe it's an unintentional throwback to the old ass wonky writing where they went "Oh it's you Scott Summers, who shoots punch dimension beams from his ruby quartz visors and leads our team of X-Men." every single issue.

I'd love to see him on X-Men or Guardians. He's already said he was done with the big stuff that builds up for years but I'd be down for either of these on self-contained story arcs.
In an ideal world, he'd get another military/espionage book like Secret Warriors but I imagine he wouldn't want to retread that stuff. This is more about me wanting that kind of book though. I guess a Winter Soldier / Man on the wall book could work too.
