Got a triple ki...splat? Roller is super fun to use but I see it being easily countered in the future. I already got one team to ragequit when I was strafing with the charger and stopping their rollers dead in their tracks.
 
I FINALLY WON A GAME! 1 win, 9 losses. I seem to get the same players each time so maybe that was part of the reason, even though I was top 1 or 2 most of the time.

I like Walleye Warehoue better than the other map(s).

PSA for new page, you can disable motion controls and invert the Y axis in the + controls menu.

I'm on a roll now. I could play this game for hours.
I also didn't notice that you could perform a super jump by touching the touchscreen until the last round.
 
Yeah but in return you get a weapon that literally can only kill if you run right over people. And if you run into another roller guess what you both die
Yeah, but if you're on the same level anyway and the other person only has a gun, you're pretty much guaranteed to get the kill.
 
How to win in Splatoon

1. Have 2-3 splat rollers on your team
2. Don't be OCD by going after the tiniest spots of opponent ink
 
I'm saying the roller is broken as someone who uses it. There is no point in using the guns. Especially that long one. Just roller all day.

Played a couple games with each of the weapons and the game feels like it's edging on being great if it wasn't lacking in certain areas. The main mechanics feel great in what little I played. I liked zipping around, creating pathways and scratched that itch of wanting to cover everything. If matches were longer and there was a way to switch weapons I think I would like it more. Every match I played felt like it ended just when everyone was getting established, though that might get quicker later in the game's life. Is there way to notify people and coordinate? Even with the short matches, people need to be on point with covering the huge flat areas so rollers can cover it. Speaking of rollers, getting put into a team with no rollers or all rollers also really sucks. It's the support weapon and it kinda feels like they make the team in every match I played.

Man I just cannot get comfortable with these controls. Both normal and inverted feel wrong

Yea that's probably the biggest thing for me. I use to play console shooters and was fine but going back now it's just so unwieldy.
 
Ugh... Controls aren't working for me... I love the game just can't get down the controls so I'm playing extremely sloppy
 
I find it really disorienting to have to look down at the gamepad to see the map. I honestly hope there's an option to just show it on the TV.
 
For the love of god, Nintendo, patch in Wii remote + nunchuk support. You created the biggest advancement console shooting games have seen since the analog stick and you omit it from your very own shooting game.

The gyro isn't bad, but man is having the right stick limited to one axis awkward. I don't understand why... the gyro lets you move in all directions, so the natural tendency is to want the analog to do the same. The scheme is very counter-intuitive and limiting.

I did pretty well regardless, but I'd be cleaning up shop with the extra precision of the remote. I don't care what anyone says, gyro controls aren't as good.

Otherwise the game is really fun. I used the machine gun the whole time and didn't have any problems taking out roller users left and right... maybe they're overpowered for paint spreading, but not combat. The range on the machine gun royally blows, though.
 
Like it so far, played 7 games with no lag at all. I won 5 with number one ranking twice. The only thing thing keeping me from paying $60 is the 2 maps per 4 hours schedule that they plan to roll with. I got bored after 40 min of the same maps so I imagine it will be the same upon release. I think August is the perfect time to get it when the rest of the game maps release since it feels a little barebones mapwise.
 
This demo is much better than the previous versions of the game ive played. Digging the soundtrack giving me Jet Grind Radio / Sonic Rush vibes
