someone should write: What is a Konami? but a miserable pile of trash

Whoa, this is a very successful kickstarte. Reaching the goal in a few hours.

The game can change so much now. I hope Iga listens tot the feedback and changes art style. I'm sure the kickstarter would be even more successful if the game would have better art.

This isn't coming out until 2017

Don't be shocked if it eventually finds it way to a (presumably more middleware-friendly) NX.

Ben Judd elaborated a bit better in this interview; the target release window at present is between 18 months and two years.

The earliest this comes out is the end of 2016.

The issue is that they are just as anime as anything else. Those styles may not be as popular as they were in the past but they still exist, especially in the realm of manga where they are quite prevalent. "Hurr durr its anime, its not like this thing I like (but refuse to admit is also anime)" doesn't mean anything as a critique - its is vague (even amongst popular modern styles there is a HUGE range - its impossible to hate them all) and lazy. I wish the color palate was darker, as an example, is a critique that actually means something.

Sure, but you're just getting caught up on terminology. It would be great if people were more precise with their words, but I don't think it's that hard to tell what style people tend to refer to these days when they are turned off by something looking "too anime." The intent behind the words doesn't seem that confusing to me.

So I'm looking through Iga's works and apparently he hasn't even directed most of his Castlevanias. He co-directed SotN and produced pretty much everything else. Wtflol

Think I may have to throw in $60 for a physical PS4 copy of this one. Pretty amazing that they are offering that as part of a Kickstarter.

Pretty silly to think that she would just dump her current obligations/clients to join a kickstarter game.

Yeah. If she was free/between-jobs, things might have been different. But at this rate, I'd imagine she might have already been scooped by Koei again to contribute designs for DW9.

Symphony of the Night is in my Top 5 games of all time, and it's the best side-scrolling 2D game ever made, so I'm pretty excited about this.

I'll probably back this. Just having a hard time justifying the $60 physical price when with GCU I don't pay more than $48 for anything new.

That said, this has given my reason to buy Order of Ecclesia. I've played it before, but don't own it. And it's one of the few remaining affordable handheld Castlevania games. Sadly, getting Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow would be way too costly.

I love that this is happening and that it's doing so well already. From that Kinda Funny Games video, gameplay sounds like it'll be a mix of Aria/Dawn's soul stealing abilities with a bit of Curse of Darkness's combine/crafting system through enemy drops. Sounds good to me. Hopefully they can nail the super responsive controls of IGA's other 2D games.

Backed for a digital copy. Symphony of the Night is one of my favorite games of all time. I still remember all the 2D detractors when it first came out.

Hooray! Wonder how high it will end up getting.
