I think the whole argument fell apart when he compared an AC game to this. When the philosophy behind both games couldn't be any further on either side of the spectrum from one another, apart from the most obvious aspect with them both being openworld.
From his body language I can deduce that the game will be a 5/10

If you cross-examine the position of his index fingers relative to his thumbs and the subtle gleam in his right eye you can quite confidently deduce that the 3rd act of the game is a bit of a let down and the PS4 suffers from frequent screen tearing. Shame really.

I think by holding all his digits out that he is telling us, consciously or unconsciously, the game is a 10 out of 10. Fucking love body language.
Well I doubt he would have written: hype if it was bad imo.

I have so much more respect for let's players now. I seems like it is really hard to play in a way that doesn't look like your stupid. God, this guys play all so bad. And still no footage of Novigrad, i am gonna cry...

Sounds like a helluva night.
Yeah, his footage is not exciting from a gameplay standpoint, but it does give us a good look at the game. Which I find to be rather nice.

To be fair, most critics have an easy time ignoring flaws (or at least mentioning them, then still scoring around them) depending on the name of the game and developer. Just a comment, I'm not saying anything about your opinion.

I could see where you are getting at but I really think it's a stretch that is what he was intoning. It really reads more that he's excited than annoyed about overhype..
I'd expect if he was doing an implication like what you said, the phrasing would be a little more like, "Oh man... that hype" implying a specific hype (like the overhype of the game. Not just hype which implies he's hyped up).
