Honestly, them letting me pick what character to play next time (since they aren't going to follow Geralt's story after this), would fix a lot of what I had problems with at least with Witcher 2 (and I worry about even in Witcher 3. I like rping a character and being immersed and it still seems more a you are playing some one else's story. While I think I'll still love it my favorite RPGs I'm kinda making my own story within their story).

Only issue I noticed was the framerate drops when the camera zooms in on characters faces during cutscenes and conversations. General free-roaming seemed pretty steady.

This game looks really good on the PS4.

I'm gonna have to wait on PC benchmarks for a 6970 and see if I can pull off similar visuals at 60FPS before I choose between the PS4 and PC version though.

Break it down for me because a lawful neutral character who struggles with decisions on a day to day basis, has a serious demeanor but a hidden sense of humor, can't reproduce and is an advocate of tough love isn't generic. He's multi layered but you'd have to read the novels. What defines generic for you? Never been done before character? I'll point you to simpsons did it. The story wasn't meant to be groundbreaking with its characters. It's a dark fantasy novel with nordic roots what's not to love?

Again you're speaking of generic and have Vegeta as an avatar. Just a male tsundere.

.. Ask yourself this. If the character was Hispanic ,Asian, or black with the same exact personality traits, would you still claim the character was "generic"?

Because white male characters are the norm and THAT IS THE NORM PERSONALITY TYPE they have, I wouldn't have called him generic otherwise.

All of that is just off the top of my head.

I can see Polygon and Kotaku critiqueing the way sex and female characters are handled but they'll still suck on CD Projekt Rekts dick.

I hope the game is fun but it just looks like a Assassins Creed game if Ubisoft didn't annualize them and also had slightly better writing (but still shitty) and better combat (but still shitty).

EDIT: I forgot to also mention most AAA games this gen have sucked or been underwhelming so that will also play to the games favor of getting a 90+.

Alright, honestly, I think this is twisting his argument here. That's not what he said. There's a difference between he's white, and he's white with a combo of characteristics along with that (a combo that is re used over and over).

Let's try to not resort to everyone twisting things around to argue with this person. You can argue against his points without changing them (you can even admit that he may even have a point in some arguments even if you disagree that it makes it a bad game. I certainly at least agree with him about combat at least in Witcher 2 though he's doing a lot of assuming to think it's going to be the same in Witcher 3 and not improved/changed).

For example, it does not make it a bad game that they went with the stereotypical gruff, jaded white guy that a lot of other games use (Joel, Drake <- and those are both from another really loved developer, Batman, the guy from Deux Ex are all examples). Sure, it would be nice to see more games try some different stuff, but that doesn't make a game bad that it doesn't. And this is from some one who has been campaigning to at least see more female protoganists (and if it is a choose your own character I'll play a female).

Just want to remind everyone the Witcher universe is much older than GoT, though I do love me some GoT. Little finger ftw!

LOL. You guys are just ganging up on me now and trying to twist my words. I knew the books existed and never said Witcher ripped off Game of Thrones. I also didn't say he was generic just because he was white but because he has the same personality type as most other white protagonists in gaming. I'm done, enjoy your circlejerk, hopefully your more open minded next time someone has a differing opinion.

I don't have TW1's OST, but what I have listened TW2's OST I like it. TW3's OST this far is great, if someone said this isn't for game I would believe them. Some game OST's are so obviously made to fit game in question.

I have a SVS SB12 subwoofer which is connected to the Adam A7X monitors and also to my 5.1 system. But my 50" Panasonic GT60 is just lame compared to my 21:9 29" LG monitor :P
