The Witcher 3 | Review Thread

I wish the IGN review had made it clear that they only mention graphical problems on the PS4 version because they haven't played the XBone version.

As it stands, people might misunderstand that only the PS4 version has those problems.

Kevin also gave Dragon Age a 9 and Bloodborne a 9 his opinion doesn't mean much.

Not to mention CD flew the gamespot guys out to their workplace for like a week.

I was right, there was no way this game wasn't going to get high scores regardless of it's actual quality.

Game is utter shite confirmed!

Yeah, I read similar quotes in every AAA game lauch. Bloodborne, Project CARS, AC Unity, TW3, Evolve, The Evil Within, etc.... every fucking time.

"Ey boys, don't worry, there are performance fixes in Day 1 patch. Don't listen pre-release date reviews performance complaints".

To be fair as far as The Evil Within is concerned, the day 1 patch did improve the performance a lot.

Eurogamer.net:

"Ambiguity and the messiness of human life. Games have already proven that they can build and populate open worlds, even worlds as majestic and romantic and wild as this one. But this stuff is a reminder that the Witcher 3 is trying to do something different. It is trying to make an open world feel convincingly inhabited, to give it the warp and weft of narrative history. That's a pretty interesting quest, and CD Projekt is a pretty interesting adventurer, beating a path into strange and bewitching new places. The result is that this Polish studio's first open world is one of the greatest we've ever seen."

Possibly the game of the generation right here, folks.

the fact only VG seem to have this problem so significantly, makes me wonder if theres a problem with their debug ps4.
Hope we get some information about this from other reviewers

PC Gamer Germany talks about noticeable dips below 30fps which result in laggy controls. Also load times up to 40 seconds after death and streaming issues. That's of course before the day 1 patch.

Going to GB for the reviews is like subscribing to X-Art for the cinematography, it's there, but you're kinda missing the whole site's raison d'être.

The key to what I was saying is a review from Jeff. Because, according to his mouth, he hates everything.

I really like Jeff. Just a joke, fellas.

Yeah don't know how can Bloodborne get a 9 with such crappy combat

Did anyone review the Xbox one version? I would like to hear about the frame rate on that version.

Nah man. Kevin van Ord knows his RPG stuff.

The only thing that i need to know is the the combat is now fun, instead of only functional.

A shame about the consoles version framerate. Now i'm really glad i got this on PC.

LOL

So Dragon Age and Bloodborne are suddenly bad games? Bloodborne for instance will almost be certainly one of the front runners for GOTY.

Bloodborne deserves a 9.

Gamespot themselves paid for the trip to Poland.

Your opinion is mute.

Just today before going to work I pulled the trigger on the Novigrad steelbook edition. Feels good seeing all these great scores now.

Preorder justified! In CDPR we trust.

That IGN review doesn't match the score they gave it. It's just i as I thought, 100 hours with loads of padding and meaningless fetch quests, exactly the same as dragon Age Inquisition. The first paragraph was about how huge the open world was.. Same as da:I. Combine this with the shitty UI and inventory system means it's not a purchase for me.

Clearly you you're just looking for negatives. Possibly look at the other reviews as well?
