So now I'm wondering if I totally misjudged this series. I played about an hour of the first Witcher game and got bored. Never tried the second game...
Devs made it a big point to say they avoided fetch quests yet ign review states the main quest is bogged down by an overwhelming amount of fetch quests.
That IGN review doesn't match the score they gave it. It's just i as I thought, 100 hours with loads of padding and meaningless fetch quests, exactly the same as dragon Age Inquisition. The first paragraph was about how huge the open world was.. Same as da:I. Combine this with the shitty UI and inventory system means it's not a purchase for me.

Wait, so are these reviews with the day 1 patch or without it?
This game was hyped to oblivion and beyond.
I expected reviews like The Last of Us![]()
Though the straightforward and fetch-quest-heavy main story overstays its welcome

That's a bit disappointing. Hopefully the drops aren't anything major.GT says that there are often framedrops in more dense areas, swamps or whatnot. You could actually see drops in video.
I want to hear more about what he thinks about it.
Guy needs a vacation from games.... his GOTY for 2014 was Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
I don't think reviews can be boosted.Wait, no Xbox review copies? But it's advertised with Xbox lol
Can we expect some reviewers to boost scores if Xbox performs better? Or will 900p cancel that out?
Also, if this was reviewed with the patch... will PS4 receive another one or are we stuck with the framerate?
While you certainly have a point, saying that in a thread dedicated to reviewers putting numbers out and generally hyping people around seem fairly counter-intuitive, don't you think?
First game is shit.
Second game is good
so much for all that 'little to no fetch quests' promise CDPR![]()

I am shocked Jeff doesn't like a game.
10/10
Does not compute.
Don't they typically send out the version that they feel will garner the most sales?maybe thats why they didnt send out Xbox one review copies...the issue might be even worse there.
I am sure day 1 patch will fix this for the PS4
Do any of these reviews explain if your Witcher 2 save will carry on and if so, how much it affects the game? Things ended kinda fucked in my game
First HOUR is shit.
First and Second game ARE GREAT
He did give three games perfect 10s now, but I like him as a reviewer.Does he have a history of bad reviews?
serious ?

i really feel like his taste in games is just all over the board.
not everything can be marvel heroes.
Fixed it for you. I think a lot of people probably get hung up on the prologue of Witcher 1 when the rest of the game is so much better.
After a certain notable and critically acclaimed AAA RPG from last year left me feeling extremely cold, I'm particularly interested to see the opinion of any reviewer who both a) enjoyed this and b) thought Dragon Age: Inquisition was a wee bit shite.
Kotaku mentioned the patch was installed on a debug console but GameTrailers said a patch is coming.
*shrugs*
if only Chie was in it.
