Ratchet and Clank PS4 Reboot Delayed To 2016, Out Spring 2016

But seriously...with the lack of exclusive games for this holidayy Ratchet and Clank had the chance to shine and maybe attract more players...

But in 2016 the competition will be huge....i hope it won't affect it that much

They should delay Until Dawn to 2016 as well at this point and promise that there will be no 1st party AAA releases this year. That would be simple to remember.

is 2016 the year of everything??

Uncharted
Street Fighter
Ratchet and Clank
Gran Turismo
Horizon
Media Molecules Games
Sony Bends Game

And Morpheus

Sony is doing an awful job scheduling their games release. It becoming a trend at their exclusive titles already.

That's like the 4th or 5th game delayed, isn't it?

-Infamous
-Driveclub
-The Order
-Uncharted 4
-Ratchet and Clank

Where's orochi and the Shu Yoshida management thread?!

And you don't think things will get shifted around like they did when The order was delayed? They had Bloodborne and The order in the same month, then moved Bloodborne March 24.

If ratchet and clank movie/ film are scheduled for april, You better believe they will change the date.

Also they just hired within past couple months tons of new people for multiplayer.

You think they will have that all ironed out with maps, modes, and what not for april/may release?

But you are comparing a 1 month delay with what, 5?
Delaying a game 1 month, when it wasn't even delayed before it's not the same that delaying other 2 times with a combined time of 1 year

Dang, So does Insomniac have anything out for this year?

Well, at least, This might be the biggest Ratchet & Clank game yet, I hope. Wonder if they also include a multi-player mode too. Gotta do something with all mechanics they messed with, with all those spin offs.

Gah, it seems most 1st party titles from Sony so far have been delayed once, save for Infamous. What is their 1st party looking like for the rest of the year? While I think their line up is fine, its only that way because of 3rd party games.

While first party exclusives aren't the be all and end all, it looks pretty bad that the market leader can't seem to get their shit together with their internal game development.

Batman is a spring game, and you're shit out of luck if you think Final Fantasy XV will make 2015.

Infamous was also delayed - http://news.softpedia.com/news/Infamous-Second-Son-Benefitted-from-Delay-Dev-Confirms-431172.shtml

A bit disappointed by this, but if the game turns out better for it then so be it. I hope we get to see some footage soon of the game at least.

I'm curious what exclusive retail games Sony will have that are AAA, outside of PSN, for holidays and Christmas to compete with MS this year though. Yeah, there's the marketing deals on 3rd party, but MS will have some of those too no doubt, plus a few exclusives this year like TR2 and Forza 6.

Anyone know what's happening with GG title?

i believe it's still a bit far out.

Man, I was hoping Ratchet would get a big holiday push with Uncharted delayed. Now things are looking pretty barren...

Doesn't matter for me, I'm banking on that third party JRPG exclusive goodness (Heavensward, Persona 5, Dragon Quest Heroes, and Disgaea 5 all this year...!)

Yeah. 'Slow Down, Bull'

My PS4 purchase can wait then, i'm not interested in the current wave of AAA offerings... fps's, open world tps's and... what else is there?... bleh... i hate this "mature" trend in the gaming industry, where's my light hearted fun?, and don't bring indies into the table because even though i love of them, they just can't compare to a proper AAA release.

Not surprised considering the movie delay.

I know a delayed game can be better than a rushed game, but surely having so many games delayed is just getting tiring.

2014: 2015 IS GOING TO BE THE BEST YEAR EVER
2015: 2016 IS GOING TO BE THE BEST YEAR EVER
2016: ... You catch my drift :p

We've been jinxing ourselves, people!

A delayed game is eventually good.
My backlog thanks you, Insomniac.
Thank you for sparing my wallet, Insomniac.
Lots of games coming between then and now.
Take all the time you need, Insomniac.
A bad game is bad forever.

Sucks but if it means better quality then go right ahead. Same thing I say for all delays.

Really can't wait to see what it looks like on PS4

Sucks for those who were excited for the reboot.

Get Xbox One and Sunset Overdrive > play Sunset Overdrive > Sell Xbox One and Sunset Overdrive when done.

Or they should just schedule it right? Also you dont need to buy anything at release to spare your wallet.

It was announced as launch day and after changed to launch window.

No it was not announced as a PS4 launch game. It was going to be one, but it was never announced as one. When they first announced a release period it was launch window until they gave a date and that date never changed.

They don't need big exclusives this holiday though to be honest, the best selling games will be third party anyways.

Buy a Wii U

Not surprising and 2015 is still shaping up to be a pretty awesome year in games. Unless something goes completely wrong, a year with Bloodborne, Witcher 3 and MGSV is still enough to beat most other years.

With Street Fighter, Uncharted, (probably) Persona 5 + the great VR battle, the first half of 2016 is looking wild though.

I still don't really get what a "reboot" of R&C looks like. I mean, each sequel was basically a slight re-imagining of the game that came before it. How different is this one going to be?
