Sony: "No concerns" about any lack of PS4 software this Holiday

E3 2015 will be very interesting to watch from Sony side because we have no ideia what guns they will bring for holidays 2015.

I'm gonna say they have nothing for holiday. E3 won't change that. Thats just my suspicion.

I don't think they are worried because there are multiplat that will carry them through holiday, with marketing deals and some exclusives like Persona 5. Maybe put a bundle in there and drop the price.

I do believe Xbone will beat them royally in Nov and Dec in na and UK.

I'm not sure why Tearaway is getting beat up on so much in this thread. Fucking bizarre.

Like this awful nonsense.

Because it's a short (really short), easy and very casual platformer. Plus, it's essentially a remaster of what didn't sell that well on the Vita. It's not a bad game at all, but it's not a game to compete with Rise of the Tomb Raider and Halo 5 for a lot of people.

If Tearaway is their exclusive game they have for the holidays, that's a shame and will be to the majority of PS4 gamers.

Tearaway is great but c'mon it's Vita port of 2013 game. I have no problems with ports but it's nothing exiting especially if it's full priced HD release.
Give me updates on first party new projects. I hope E3 will be on 2009 level of awesomeness.

I do wonder how different some people's opinion of the game would be different if it were a Nintendo game. There seems to be an unreasonable expectation for Sony to make huge western AAA exclusives or they don't count.

Tons of people have ps4s and not Vitas too so the game is basically new to a lot of them.

Why would they be concerned?
I mean, look at the sales charts. They can stop releasing exclusives on the system and it will still end up the best selling console of the gen by a large margin.

Yeah. The 360 did fine without any major exclusives.

Um, guys. You don't shoot people in those games, so, they're shit.

It's more these aren't the games that people will get hype about. I consider tearaway one of the top 5 games of 2013 but it isn't the sort of thing you sell systems with.

E3. Hope they aren't bluffing.

Welp, there it is. E3 2015

I guess they do have surprises in store for E3.

There's bound to be secret titles.
Are you guys serious? This guy have a typical PR spin and avoided the question.

Here what he really said.
1. They're not rushing their developers.
2. They have a great holiday lineup (because 3rd parties)

And there nothing wrong with that. They will still be the best selling console is the year.

And shitting on No Man's Sky too. A free roaming game with the scope of an entire galaxy suddenly deserves no excitement whatsoever. Amazing.

My guess it that Tearaway and No Man's Sky will be better games than the vast majority of stuff released this year.

The only people concerned with Sonys holiday lineup are on NeoGaf. General public doesn't care.

This is probably true. Most people I know at work and school are super excited and getting ready to buy consoles for Battlefront and COD. That's a great lineup to them.

Well they're hardly going to say "We're really worried", are they?!
.

Lol at people shitting on Tearaway, have you guys even played it?

I don't think people are shitting on Tearaway. It's just not a well known established IP. So in terms of having something good to play, sure it's nice, but that doesn't mean Sony shouldn't be concerned.

I do believe Xbone will beat them royally in Nov and Dec in na and UK.

In the UK it will probably be close. PS4 still outsold the XB1 last November/Dec there.

The wishful thinker in me is hoping for a Sony surprise. They've fobbed Morpheus off as coming by Q2 next year and say the main reason is waiting for enough decent software. No Mans Sky is touted as Xmas this year going by the New Yorker article and indeed this confirmation straight from Sony.

No Mans Sky is highly likely to be Morpheus supported, it would be crazy for it not to be. The devs have been seen with a Morpheus (and Oculus) dev kit so it seems highly likely.

A VR software shortage at launch for Morpheus will be minimised by having such a hugely hyped and massive game such as No Mans Sky supporting it, along with some neat demos and smaller experiences it could still blow people away and be a cool as hell Xmas present that will blow all else away.

Then we have decent VR games hitting over the course of the year to keep momentum going. Morpheus is like a platform launch in its own right so like any console launch it can survive with one or two must have titles at the beginning. The sheer epicness of having VR will beat away most cynicism from most quarters I predict.

Sony themselves have said Morpheus as it stands is near final hardware anyway and the software issue is what's really holding it back. A surprise Xmas launch would decimate all else before it even if it is "only" No Mans Sky and Project Cars as the main full games supporting it, I'd buy in an instant.

i cannot freaking wait for tearaway. it is my fave game on the vita, but playing it all i was thinking was that i wished it was a full console release. and now it will be. given the time it's taking to make it sounds like it'll be more then just a basic port too.

Tearaway is such a fantastic game and if they can do for the PS4 what they did for the Vita, then it will be just as special.

I'm not bothered, RIME, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Volume, No Man's Sky, Until Dawn, Aliennation, Persona 5 will do for me on the exclusive front, then add all those multiplats and it is golden.

I say this as someone who is single console only this gen (money and time are not good right now).

Um, guys. You don't shoot people in those games, so, they're shit.
People are looking at this on comparison to Xbox One. There nothing announced this year that competes with a Halo 5 or Tomb Raider. But hey maybe they don't need to? I say third parties are enough for most.

Regardless of what it is, he's not going to namedrop something unannounced, duh.

Or would you rather he talk about Destiny again like last year?

They will pull something like Destiny and get the 3rd party to market their product with heavy associations to PS4

Even thought I'm still hyped for it, I know what you mean. Let's hope HG came up with a way to prevent PvP from breaking the experience.

Everything I've seen has supposed the idea that you really are not going to be interacting with other players much, at all. If you're shooting, it'll be PvE content.

Isn't Tearaway a late summer/ early fall game? Also lol people trying to discredit a game because it doesn't fit the AAA mold yet complain about lack of creativity in the gaming market today.

Besides what does MS have this holiday aside from halo? Gears remake? Forza?

I never said that.

Tearaway PS4 is a remake of a Vita game. Naming that as a game to be excited for in the holidays isn't saying much.

It's not a fucking port

The only people concerned with Sonys holiday lineup are on NeoGaf. General public doesn't care.

This is true. The significance of Sony exclusives is overplayed, not only because they're comfortably in the lead, but also because PS4 will have its first killer lineup of software this year, and it's not going to matter if that software is also on rival platforms. An unprecedented amount of PS4s will sell in November/December compared to XB1 or Wii U.

The only thing Sony could possibly worry about is Microsoft cutting off their balls to practically give away XB1 (not out of the realms of possibility). Otherwise, Xmas is sewn up in Sonyland.

I know what you guys mean, but, in an ideal world, we'd be equally excited about all of these games, not just the violent ones.

2+ years in and studios are still "getting to grips" with the hardware? Kind of seems ridiculous especially seeing as the hardware is nothing out of the ordinary.
