Lex Luthor is joining a growing list of DC characters who are getting a major visual overhaul this summer. Luthor's new look was revealed in a preview for June's Batman/Superman #21, which was featured in Convergence: Justice League of America #2 this week.

While Luthor will be retaining the familiar green and purple color scheme that's been his hallmark for decades, it's clear the villain is opting for more of a street level approach. His traditional armor has been replaced by a trenchcoat, sunglasses and gauntlets. If anything, he seems to be taking fashion advice from Static of the Static Shock franchise.

Luthor joins characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash and Green Arrow, all of whom are getting new costumes and new status quos as part of DC's big post-Convergence relaunch in June. In the case of Batman, it'll be an entirely different character wearing the new armored suit.

I...just can't anymore.

Looks like a comicbook character :p

I'm not in love with it or anything but it's fine. I wish he'd lose the shades though

I bet you were real pissed when he became a businessman. for me as long as it's not the stupid battle armor i'm fine with it. this seems to be an amalgam of different looks.

Businessman Lex Luthor is what he SHOULD look like.

The Animated series and 80s-90s comics got it 100% right

this is Lex:

Why fuck with such an iconic look?

Seems like they want to make him younger in the comics and portray them how they THINK the Jesse Eisenberg version will be. However I highly doubt movie version will be anything like this and hopefully will be more like the businessman/scientist version particularly since their was a LexCorp truck in the first movie.

Could you imagine having a job trying to please comic book fans.

It's really not that difficult.
