Mario Kart 8 finally hits a million, Splatoon sold good, Wii U above the 3DS consoles

Shipment for Splatoon must've been something like 150k then, I guess?
 
An ink-redible debut for Splatoon, and the Wii U really squidded up the charts.

The Mario Kart increase shows that it did actually do its job of attracting a new audience to the system. The question will be how it holds up over the next couple of weeks.
 
So, with Splatoon in that #1 spot, can we stop having people claim this game is going to do Wonderful 101 numbers? Please?
 
As for Project Mirai it lines up with SEGA saying this will be swan song of Mirai series (they'll continue on Diva series though).
 
very solid debut for Splatoon, good bump for Wii U, MK8 passes the million mark at retail! a positive week for the Wii U, not something you see every week.
 
Good numbers for Splatoon. Not amazing numbers on their own, but for a Wii U game and a new IP, those are very good numbers.
 
Excellent debut for Splatoon, given the stock shortages.

A hardware environment where the Wii U is on top is a battered one, but it is what it is. Good week for Nintendo.

But this was a remake that was initially not even supposed to release in Japan. Is it really much of an indication of this spin-off's future potential?

It doesn't seem like Project Mirai Deluxe is really worth getting if you already own the first two games. It wasn't even going to be released in Japan originally, this version was being made for western countries. Then they suddenly delayed it to September here about a week before release while the Japanese version still got released on time.
 
Heh so Wii U has a 150k opening New IP that is very different than what is available on Wii U so far with big marketing funds behind it and it only manages 18k...

When was the last time PS4 was in 4th place lol?

Great to see Splatoon of to a great start hopefully this shows Nintendo that actually marketing a game works
 
Like the others said, nice debut for splatoon (my guess 2 weeks ago was 110k FW or so) - nice boost for Wii U and mario kart 8.

Also WiiU almost the same YTD as last year, while all other consoles show a bigger decline. Admittedly it didn't sell THAT much in the first place, but last year had mario kart 8 as a release.

At this rate, Witcher 3 will have sold more than Xenoblade Chronicle X in Japan. Totally unpredictable.
 
Regardless of new IP or not, Splatoon did amazing. When you compare it to the launch numbers of other titles on Wii U it did rather well.
 
Amazing work for Splatoon. Hope it stays as an evergreen title.
