I really wish I could communicate with my teammates in Splat Zones. Rule one of Splat Zones is: DO NOT GO INTO THE SPLAT ZONE. Yet I can't tell them that, so they will stay ignorant forever.

Okay I'm taking a break from Splatzones. For 8 matches I was in a room where 3 level 20 guys were always matched up together and I was always against them with people that would stand still and stop after 1 minute.

Every single match I was going to win I got DC'ed (about 13 times) even if I didn't have any connection problems when I was playing Turf War. (and I played it for the double of time, in between matches, yadda-yadda)

Fell from C+ 90 to C- 60 in one fell swoop. Leaving the day after yet another disconnect.
Fuck this game.

but it's so fun

Does anyone else feel that the .52 Gal Deco is a bit of a "take that" at weapon skins in other FPS/TPS games? You have shooters with gold guns, camo patterns and zebra stripes, but in Splatoon deco mods means your gun is fucking

How in the fucking shit does that one roller's splash reach so far? I swear the fucking god, this one asshole killed me from 20 fucking feet away with it.

Damage Up and Defense Up are useless, if you can reroll those boots then do so. Try for at least two Run Speed Up for great synergy with Ink Resistance Up. Three is ideal but tricky I think.

Opening Gambit > Tenacity. For the first thirty seconds you basically get two Run Speed Up and two Swim Speed Up. Lets you rush to the zone.

Okay, once I get to level 20, I'll try to get those little shellfish to re-roll my stats.

Holy shit the lag lately has been ridiculous (was playing ranked). Was literally killed by two players that died right before my eyes. The kill cam thing showed ink literally generating out of thin air >.>

It seems to get insanely bad whenever Japanese players are in the match. That or my router is trash

I don't understand how people can amass so many damn points.

1100+ is crazy to me. I feel like I'm working my ass off splatting the map and killing people and I can barely break 900.

Using that new rapid fire weapon. Forget the name.

LOL

Minutes after making this post I decided to try the Aerospace RG.

In each of my next ten matches I was the highest scoring player on my team.

Scored 1300 for the first time on a winning team, and scored 1000 on a losing team. I'd say I scored over 1000 points in 7 or 8 of those games.

Holy fucking shit.

#feelslikeimcheating

Disregard my previous post.

My aggressive playstyle really works well with the Aerospace RG; not so much with the N-Zap '85 or Splattershot Jr.

I don't think there's any real tips for Ranked as it is, you're just going to have to either become strong enough to carry your entire team or law of averages struggle your way up the ranking ladder

The one big tip I can give is find a good hiding spot near the splat zone. Also, when you control the splat zones, be sure the spray as much of the surrounding area as possible to keep control of the map (that one might be obvious).

Your load out is really important on that one.

As a roller, my pet peeve is being matched up with a team of 4x rollers vs. a team of all ranges. How the hell is that balanced or fair? Stupid game.
i love it

i'd probably do better at splat zones if i wasn't too lazy to take up charger

oh well, it's still good for grinding coins

not too invested in the heat of the action when i'm not playing with gaf

Extremely good advice for every stage that isn't Walleye Warehouse just because of how much fucking open space there is in the main area. You just aren't getting around it without walking into a fuck load of shit unless you are really fortunate with teammates splattering everywhere and have ninja squid.

Honestly, ninja squid is like the most important ability in the meta imo.

Also I am extremely pissed off with ranked battles. It just feels like there's too much out of my control to consistently do well in it, let alone get good rank up opportunities. I literally watched as my team had 49 seconds on the clock to the other team's 54 only for them to clutch it out because the overtime they had to wait on ran out and the last six seconds of the match corresponded to the six seconds they needed to win by virtue of holding the ground "longer" than we did. I was saltier than Lot's wife.

Oh yeah that's why I keep coming back. The points are too strong. Level 20 and I didn't even see it coming.

Yeah, I can't go back to Turf Wars for levels any more. At the same time, the all or nothing nature of Ranked + losing ranks on loss is really wearing down my soul.
