Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Sorry if this has been posted here before, but what work has Bluepoint done in the past? First I've heard of them.

I'm a little bummed about no MP (Uncharted 2's was so, so good), but it makes sense in terms of download/install size. Plus, we'd theoretically be getting an Uncharted MP experience in Uncharted 4 whenever it ships--makes sense not to split the player base.

(Insert won't-be-as-bad-as-MCC-since-there's-no-multiplayer joke here)

They're the studio that did the HD remasters of the God of War games, Ico & SOTC, and MGS2 & 3 - all of which were fantastic. Basically they do great work and have become probably the most reliable studio for remastering older games, which is why folks are happy.

Why do people keep bringing up the UC4 beta making up for the lack of multiplayer? Unless the beta is going to run for several months, it's not going to make up for not having multi. The beta will, at best, be available to play for a few weeks.

If the UC2/3 beta is any indication, it will run for two weeks.

Exactly, I find that an odd deduction. It's not like Bluepoint aren't a proven port studio and there aren't 3 different studios that have been outsourced work to release the content in time.

Not just that, but MCC's multiplayer being broken didn't break the single player content. It had its own set of game breaking issues. What's to say Uncharted Collection won't have those similar glitches by that logic then?

Seems like a copout.

Yep. There's also like, way less mp content between the 2 Uncharted's compared the MCC. Not saying it'd be a cakewalk to port, but, I can't imagine it'd suffer the same fate.

Man, this really bums me out. I played so much Uncharted MP.

They're calling this "The Nathan Drake collection" so that means
Uncharted will have mores games after the fourth one but with other protagonist :O jk jk

1080p and 60 fps of Uncharted goodness (made by Bluepoint)? hell yeah!

I'd be fine with this actually. Maybe for the new saga we can have a female protagonist and the game can focus on platforming and puzzle solving...

I'm interested in this once I buy a PS4, still haven't played UC3 and having 60 fps might be worth the wait.

Sixty dollars?!

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Good luck with that. Now, if they'd tossed in The Last of Us complete and called it the "Naughty Pack", then maybe...

Thorw this post in the garbage, it's trash. I bet you weren't saying the same thing when MCC was announced.

Wait, there's no multiplayer? That's actually great, I've played my share of UC2 which was fantastic but it means I can finally plat UC3.
Did you not get it until after the servers were shut down? The only multiplayer trophies that were required was playing 1 competitive mp game and 1 co-op game.

I may be blind but I don't see where in the blog posts they say no multiplayer.

All I see are the improvements to the single player. Multiplayer could still be there but not 1080p @60.

People jumping to conclusion again?

Day 1.

I platinumed all four Uncharteds and I'll enjoy the hell out of platinuming these three all over again.

So many No Multiplayer comments. Guys this comes with UC4 MP beta access. With UC4 right around the corner this is the smart and prudent thing to do. No sense in spreading yourself too thin and splitting the multiplayer community between different mp. Give us the beta we will probably love and play once we buy UC4. We get better versions of all three UC games AND a MP beta to play.

Damn, I was holding out hope that Bluepoint was working on the Dishonored: Definitive Edition. I'll be passing on this one.

Bluepoint is great though, so good news for the UC fans.

I'm in. Uncharted was the reason I bought a PS3 and has remained one of my favorite franchises from last gen.

Probably going to pick up the physical from Best Buy for GCU discount.

Yeah, I thought for sure it was an E3 announcement but Druckmann said it went up a few hours early indicating that they were going to announce today

Interesting
My guess is get the boring stuff out of the way so that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle of The Last Guardian's re-reveal. Believe

Yes, I'm happy. Never had a Playstation before the PS4, so this will be the first time.

Hopefully it will be a port with the same quality as the Last of Us

This is going to sell like hotcakes.

No luck needed

Think about all the 360->PS4 people who didn't play Uncharted.

They don't need luck. To most consumers, their last game was TLOU and to the people who were on 360, it's 3 brand new games. It's gonna sell.

Oh, really? Well, guess it's too late for that now, PS3 died last year.

1080p 60fps with imimprovements, didnt expect this, well done.

I hope one of this changes is that ugly hud on the top left corner. Would prefer a basic clean hud that doesnt take away a chunk of the screen.

EDIT: wait, is there no mp? Should have atleast included one of the mp from the game. ( atleast uc2 mp imo )

The only reason people might think $60 isn't a good price is if they're comparing it to the MCC value. But then again half of that value was broken for months
Also add to thr fact that these are all PS3 games. Compared to 2 xbox and 2 360 games and the main factor for most was broken.

Who's bluepoint btw? Did they do the LoU PS4 or something?

Bluepoint handled the God of War Collection, Ico & SOTC Collection, MGS HD Collection for consoles, Flower for Vita/PS4, as well as the 360 port for Titanfall and developing the engine that PSASBR and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate run on. It's in good hands.

We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we’ve had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates.

It definitely sounds like they're serious about improving and tweaking the games instead of just straight-up porting, really looking forward to hear about these improvements they've made (besides just the graphics).

What did you expect?

Free.

At least that's what it seems like from some of these posts.

I for one am glad it's $60, especially after that $40 pricetag for GoW III remaster. They've fallen back in line with the remaster prices of last gen ($20 per game).
