Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Gotten platinums for both UC1 and 3, 2 I found not that much fun to play on Crushing so I didn't bother. So I don't have a reason to play through them again, but the multiplayer beta is intriguing. If they only sold that for like 15 bucks or something (less if the beta was short, only a month or so) I might dip, but I'm not buying the full thing for that.

As big of a fan as I am, I'm disappointed to say I'm absolutely not getting this. Cutting out game content that we had in the original release and selling some of it to us as preorder bonus BS? Cutting out ALL multiplayer?

I would argue that the Naughty Dog B Team put as much time or more into the U3 multiplayer as they did with the campaign. You can easily tell if you've played it.

Gamers stayed with U3 for the MP, not for the campaign, as it sucked, especially compared to U2.

"But there's U4 Beta Access!" Oh so this is the MP we're supposed to be happy about! A couple of weeks worth of a (probably) almost-finished product that will then be taken away in order for us to spend another $60 to keep playing it!

Past all of that, I wonder if all these new Uncharted players will get to experience the jarring aiming difference going from U2 to U3, especially now that they're playing at 60fps.

ND's B Team seriously fucked up the aiming fluidity in U3. Everyone just had to get used to it.

This is a problem. You could buy all three games brand new, with multiplayer but without the remastered stuff for that and still have change. That is not good.

I could but all the Halo games for a fiver and a sack of pucks, but that thing came out fill price too. At least of I went with the first option they would actually work.

Some of the texture work in all 3 we're already bloody fabulous, so the bump to 1080p, coupled with a general texture up means it will look outstanding. Better char models, lighting.60fps! Can't wait!!!

25-30 hours gameplay for games 4-8 years old, with only half the content included in 2 of them

who would pay those prices?
25-30 hours is the time of the single-player campaigns alone, so color me unconcerned.

I would assume the people who pay it either want to experience the games for the first time or really love the series.

So confirmed that nobody actually said that and we're all freaking out for no reason.

GAF gonna GAF.

If there was multiplayer, it would have been mentioned. It's as simple as that. Instead, they're placing emphasis on the fact that only part of the game is included (the single player campaign).

I'm surprised at the amount of smuggery about the Halo Collection I'm seeing in this thread considering what an embarassment that release has continued to be since release.

As much as I trust Bluepoint's competence, its going to be a monumental task to get these games to run at 1080p60 on completely new hardware. Remember these games are absolutely tailor made for Cell and PS3 and afaik ND themselves worked on TLoU RE alone for almost a year.

Yeah, this was my main reasoning for thinking this collection was unlikely not too long ago. I don't know enough about these things to be sure, but I wonder if all the work ND put into porting TLoU's engine (Which afaik was an updated version of Uncharted's engine) to PS4 is making it easier for Bluepoint to port the older games to the same hardware or something?

Would be interesting to hear an interview with someone from BP on the specifics at some point.

I own all 3 on the PS3 and have no real interest in the Uncharted multiplayer so I will wait until the price goes down. It will be nice to see these games at 1080p though.

Nothing confirmed then, is what you're saying?

Got it.

All you literally had to do was play a round of deathmatch and do a coop mission...

If anything Drake's Fortune was the hardest one and had no multiplayer.

Just curious. Does anyone know whetehr Last of Us remaster was announced/shown at a Sony conference? I

Arthur Schopenhauer seems quite popular over here.

The ship graveyard section in UC3 is going to be fucking glorious in 60fps. I remember playing that on the PS3 and being blown away.

It's been an hour since the post. Surely someone at Sony or ND would have said "hang on, there is MP" after seeing all the complaints.

There's no MP.

While I agree there's no MP, let's not pretend that an untimely response rate from Sony proves anything :P

Really looking forward to seeing how they've updated DF. That one will likely see a major overhaul while 2 and 3 will remain relatively similar.

Sixty dollars?!

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Good luck with that. Now, if they'd tossed in The Last of Us complete and called it the "Naughty Pack", then maybe...

Luck? They don't need luck selling this thing. Probably will do a million before years end an if it's including beta access to uc4 it could do more.

Also there is a group of people who have never owned a ps3. This collection speaks to them.

Perhaps, you know, people that didn't have a PS3 and wanted to play Uncharted?

People who loved the games on PS3 and want to re-experience them with a visual upgrade and new trophies on PS4.

I'm really excited for this collection. A ton of content, upgrades to the games themselves, I personally don't care for multiplayer so… yeah lots of people like me will play this at full price.

UC1 I expect them to drop the sixaxis nonsense that was forced into it (grenade tossing, balancing on the tree) and that immediately makes the game better. It makes grenades actually usable (it'd also be nice if they made the grenades better themselves, as well, more like UC2 grenades).

Honestly, if they have the UC engine like stated in the blogpost I wouldn't be surprised if UC1 actually receives significant changes to its gameplay. Keep the waves and waves of enemies and their AI but take UC2's gunplay and physics for bullets/grenades and UC1 could go from mediocre to pretty damn good.
