Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

I'm surprised there are seemingly no problems with this thread being completely derailed into the Master Chief Collection justification thread tbh.

Yes for all versions, they are changing alot of stuff apparently.

This is great news! Do you have a link to the changes ND is making?

EDIT:

Ty for the quote you posted, but that doesn't talk about my own concerns:

What about the laggy movement of Drake in Uncharted 1? Are there plans to change Drake's movement from Uncharted 1 with his movement from Uncharted 2?

Why did they even bother with the first game?

UC 1 -> UC 2 was second only to AC -> AC II in terms of in-series improvements.

Was this always planned for the fall? Seems like an "uncharted got delayed let's make this" which worries me that this could be a complete rush job...

It's a different studio making this so it certainly wasn't a rush job.

This collection being made has had ZERO affect on Uncharted 4

MCC single-player had issues, primarily FPS wise.

Moving on from that talk, I would have liked UC2 MP but I don't see anything wrong with the $60 price point for 3 games remastered.

Especially with graphical updates and gameplay tweaks. To each his own I suppose.

I'm there day one.

Edit: Also, will be broke. DQ: Heroes is out a week later. Disgaea 5 possible a week earlier. RIP wallet.

Yes.

Well probably not the only one, but it's a dumb thing to think regardless.

Maybe buried was a bit extreme, I just think it'd have done a lot better if it had come out this summer. I myself won't bother with it in October. They'll be too many other releases that aren't just remasters out around then for me personally.

^That's not really including anything that might get announced at e3 though. (such as the rumored oct date for Fallout 4)

After MCC I'll see waiting to see how this turns out but as someone who only played the original uncharted this looks like a great little package.

I'm fairly sure this was always in the works, just that the schedule could've been shuffled around with the UC4 delay.

Yes.

Looking at the current release schedule it should be fine. It's spaced nicely inbetween all of this.

Define 'buried.'

It won't outsell Halo 5 or Syndicate, but I'd say there's a good chance it'll chart, and a 50:50 chance of being in top 5.
Nah, this game's going to be completely uncharted.

Oh man this is going to be so soooo good. Especially UC1 which I've never been able to fully replay because it's so bad. I've completed 2 and 3 countless times though, the latest times being on Crushing.

At least it's a better value than GOW 3 Remastered.

I like the box art, should go in OP

X marks the crotch.

Yeah I know, it just seems wierd that this is launching this fall and uncharted 4 was at one point supposes to launch in the fall...

didn't the uncharteds always launch in november?

to me, it seems like they pushed this one back to october instead of launching earlier to accommodate first-time fans before going to uc4.

This was in the works for a while.

There's another possibility that maybe this was initially planned for the summer, and was pushed to October to fill the gap Uncharted 4 left. In that case, they had even more time to finish the game.

But, yeah, you don't need to worry about the quality of this remaster, it's by Bluepoint who have a great track record. They are the remaster masters.

Looking at that list, it's biggest competition that month actually strikes me as Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Halo 5 is on another console, so it doesn't have to compete quite as directly. But a big multiplat like AC:S will be hard to compete against for mindshare.

Not to mention these collections become bundle fodder latter. Be interested to see if Sony does the Controller bundles like they did last gen.

To the people complaining about value compared to MCC: value of remasters is subjective. look at how well TLOU remastered sold. If you dont think its worth 60 bucks, i totally understand. For me it could be 90 for all I care and I would still buy it. the MCC is worth 3 bucks to me.

Thank god, people that enjoy the MCC should write more frequently because there are a lot misinformation about it. The game since day 1 is ok for campaings, and today it is good for MP. And Halo 2 is very impressive remake.. NDC should be at least 30 bucks

Yeah, I never had any problem with the campaigns. Some people did though but I wonder if they were playing co-op or not. Anyways, it shouldn't even be compared with this collection. MCC had 4 games, 100 MP maps(correct me if I'm wrong) combined from all games with probably 7 Halo 2 remade maps, Halo 2 is actually a remake and not a remaster, Halo 5 MP beta and finally fuck tons of MP modes. It's just a shame that 343 outsourced that shit or it would have been such a top notch release but oh well, they fixed a ton of the MP problems and for the most part works great now. Just less than a week they added ODST which is for free for those that had the game within the first month, 5$ expansion if not. Not to mention all games have split-screen + online co-op with only the first two games being 2 players, the rest are all 4 players.

All that for 60$. It's not even in the same league as the Nathan Drake collection lol. Anyways, what I am most interested in seeing is UC1 even though I'm not going to buy this collection.

I think Uncharted 4 was never coming out this year (despite what they may say).

I also think in terms of sales Uncharted 4 is releasing at a good time, going up against Call of Duty and other annual franchises is not going to do them any favours.

But launching early next year when there's not much else, and people are probably hungry for games will get extra sales,

All 4 campaign, co-op with friends worked along with Halo 2A, which wasn't just 1080p/60fps bump but entirely redone campaign. Even you ignore all 100MP maps and shitty matchmaking.

There is no comparison of this with MCC value wise.
Campaigns didn't work 100% fine at release. But even if you want to compare the value, there isn't as many Uncharted games as Halo, unless you wanted a port if Abyss.

Yeah, except Rainbow Six, there's at least a two-week gap before/after in terms of highly competitive games that will take away mindshare from this collection.

And Rainbow Six, being a MP-only game, probably has the least overlap with this.

after last year's unity and half of ps4 owners never owning a ps3, i don't even think unity is the biggest competition.

i'd say the annual nba 2k game is.
Ooooo. I didn't notice the NBA 2K game since it was at the end of September. Yeah, that's a big one as well.

Totally ignorant question, does Rainbow 6 do good numbers on consoles? It always stuck me as a game to play on my PC. Not sure why, but that's how I always saw it.

Why did they even bother with the first game?

UC 1 -> UC 2 was second only to AC -> AC II in terms of in-series improvements.

UC1 has its moments and people would complain if it wasn't included. Collections need to be complete. It's like how Sony is excluding GoW Ascension with the GoW3 Remaster or like how they're not including GoW1 & GoW2 with 3 even. And it's not like it's a bad thing they're including it, it's a fun game.

And UC1 can benefit the most from gameplay improvements. Hopefully, they make it as similar as possible to UC2 gameplay-wise. Just imagine... the movement, jumps, gunplay -- all like UC2 but you're playing UC1's story. That would be a godsend.

This is cool to me. I'm surprised so many people are upset over the lack of multiplayer. I played it twice for the trophies then never looked back.

Do we have any trophy data for MP? I honestly don't think the users complaining about it are the majority. I play UC games for the story and SP experience, and I think that's what the series is most recognized for. This is a great deal, and just tweet to ND u guys want the new MP to be like UC2 and give player feedback. Lol how GAF makes everything negative, this is a great announcement sheesh.
According to trophies, 25.9% of Uncharted 2 players completed a competative game while only 14.3% finished a co-op game.

Uncharted 3 fared better than that, with 25.9% of players again finishing competative, and 20.7% finishing a co-on match.

Using the SP trophies and since the difficulties stack up we know at least 44.5% and 34.8% players finished UC2 and 3 respectively. The percentages here might be wrong because some consoles are offline and those aren't counted.

Edit:

Ubisoft has high expectations of R6, so I expect it to be aggressively marketed to the console audience, at least.

On the contrary, I think the collection was planned for summer, so it should be extra polished now that it was pushed back due to the U4 delay.
