Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

It's really not-- Uncharted is about the experience of the story, the multiplayer has always been a canned ham add-on that has never felt like it belonged. People pissy about it not being in this collection are all hot under the collar for no good reason.

Absolutely not - even though I think they could of been more creative with Uncharted MP.

It really is and tacked on multiplayer couldn't be further from the truth. Multiplayer was a fully fleshed out brilliant experience with excellent co-op missions, brilliant maps and multiple games modes that actually felt fresh because of the vertical aspect of some maps. Single player for me at least was a great few hours romp through a set pieced filled eye candy fest but as soon as it was over the longevity came from the multiplayer.

Jak and Daxter HD Collection was $40.
Ratchet and Clank HD Collection was $40.
The Sly Collection was $40.
The God of War Saga was $40.
The Splinter Cell HD Collection was $40.
The Prince of Persia HD Collection was $40.
The Hitman HD Collection was $40.
The Tomb Raider HD Collection was $40.
The Devil May Cry HD Collection was $40.
The Infamous Collection was $40.
The Killzone Collection was $40.
The Resistance Collection was $40.
The Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection was $50 (5 games).
The Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy Collection was $40.

There's a very obvious precedent for these sort of collections and people really aren't being unreasonable when they point out that this is overpriced.

Not exactly a fair comparison, as a lot of those are not Remasters (Eg no extra work or effort required), simply bundled re-releases. On top of that, many that are, feature older games (from even earlier generations). Re-release bundles at the end of a generational cycle are often cheaper, and remasters of much older games tend to be too. It's why Last of Us Remaster was more expensive, because at the time it was still regarded as a fairly new title. If Uncharted 1 and 2 were from the PS1 or PS2 days, I've no doubt this would be a $40 release.

If there's no MP - and going by box art they're won't be - it's most likely because they want you focused on getting U4 for MP as well as the next SP campaign.its dissappointing but it makes sense for the Uncharted 4.

The fact you get Beta only strengthens need to focus to on that.

Bluepoint plus 1080/60fps says I'll probably double dip although I might wait for price to dip a little before dipping myself.

Couldn't agree more. I mean after playing TLOU muliplayer it's hard to go back to uncharted. I like the slower paced shooting, and using traps. Plus I felt guns had better range in TLOU.

I am bummed there is no Co-op missions, but hey, maybe they will add those down the line, who knows at this point.

But for 7-8 hour campaign for Uncharted 1, 10-14 Hour campaign for Uncharted 2, and 10-12 hour campaign for uncharted 3 at 1080p, 60fps, with better lighting, textures, and hopefully revamped models. I'll gladly pay 60$ for this.

that does not change the cost to produce them.60 bucks for 3 last-gen games is reasonable, not overpriced. especially if it's the premier franchise of playstation.

people whining are the ones who just want to buy everything cheap and scream "anti-consumer" when 1) they're not forced to buy it and 2) it's not like they're charging so big a premium. if you can't afford 60 bucks, then buy it next year. you don't want to wait? then buy it now.

it's seriously a cycle that never ends. we want everything to be cheap, that doesn't mean we have to be unreasonable about it. people bought tlou for 60 bucks, i don't know why 3 uncharted games suddenly *should not* be 60 bucks no matter what.

and as many here have shown, it's not even close to being overpriced.

TLOU:R was dropped to $50 after complaints about the price.

Some of those were remaster's of PS2 games.. but w/e..

At $20 games a piece, I think the price is fine and people who are complaining about the price are most certainly over-reacting.

I really get sick of all the necessary bitching. If you don't like the price, just fucking wait for a sale. I really don't understand people on these forum sometimes. Do people just really feel obliged to buy games immediately at $60? Even if the game is $10 more than what you except, is it really that big of a difference to you? That's like the cost of an expensive lunch for most (it's all relative I know)...

Just monitor slickdeals/cheapassgamers for sales. The easiest thing to do is if you have an Android phone, you can just add a twitter widget to a homepage and scroll through all the deals daily, which usually includes video games if it makes frontpage.

I can guarantee you that there will be a black friday sale on this at major retailers too.

Looks like most of the people in this thread never played Uncharted MP beta if they're complaining that much about MP not being included in the collection. :O I mean u2 MP, whether closed or the open, beta were awesome, as was the u3 mp beta, and i mean beta not the 1 month prerelease MP. So U4 beta here i come to have as much fun as in previous ones.

So is there a way to cancel a digital preorder? I want that dynamic theme but I'd rather buy the game physically, and don't really intend on committing to a preorder in general.

No but there is Golden Abyss wich have Nathan Drake and is not in this collection. So yes it is a stupid name.

Golden abyss was shit, it wouldn't translate well at all to a big screen. Clearly the worst Uncharted game, and I thought uncharted 3 was bad with all its close combat and qte (and one of the most boring starts to any game with that damn young Nate intro) so that's saying something

WHAT?! Hahaha. You can't be serious. Thousands and thousands of people played the games' MP components every day for years. It was almost universally loved, feature-packed, and had lots of content.

bet these same people would have outraged if Halo MCC didnt include campaign

Halo is known for multiplayer so why include the campaign, right?

If that's 60 dollars and includes multiplayer, its pretty damn awesome! I may buy the collection, since I sold all ym Uncharted games when I sold my PS3.
That's my favorite Playstation franchise!

When first released, the GOW HD collection was $40 for 2 games. The GOW CoO/GoS HD collection was $40 for 2 games. The Team Ico collection was $40 for 2 two games. Those price points seemed fair to most people, did they not?

How is a collection of 3 previous gen games, remastered with the same care as those examples, not worth $20 apiece?

I didn't get into Uncharted 2 multiplayer till after Patch 1.04. From what I understand, Patch 1.04 decreased players health? (making it closer to Call of Duty)

Yes the patch had weapon tweaks which made everyone basically die a lot quicker. At the time a lot of players including me made a big out cry to ND on their old forum (before they merged them with the playstation forum) and their response was they had planned for the MP to have these weapon tweaks from the start.

Which felt like a massive lie as the MP was clearly designed with the higher health in mind. ND broke so many hearts and seemingly never knew how right they had it :'(

This seemed inevitable, but no MP means I'll pick this up in a fire sale. Wasn't too thrilled with Uncharted 3's MP, but 2's was amazing. Sad that they're not going to even attempt to bring either back.

It also was more recent, included the DLC, and did not remove the multiplayer / DLC from the game.

Missing content. Lots of it. Those games lost nothing in the transition.

damn i just bought 1-2 dual pack for like $10 on amazon

oh well i'll play through them and then when i get a ps4 play through 3 in time for 4

My nephew might enjoy this. For me, well, I've never been a fan of this series, and I couldn't imagine playing it with the multiplayer seemingly lacking.

Will pick this up for GCU price. Bummed by the lack of multiplayer but U4 is right around the corner so I won't wait long for Uncharted mutli.

Actually to me this sound more extensive.

Jak, Ratchet, and Sly collections were generation-spanning PS2 games on PS3. Uncharted collection is a generation-spanning PS3 series on PS4, that also doesn't happen to include a huge portion of two of the games. In both situations, you're dealing with a one-gen difference. In both cases, you're dealing with porting and remastering games from a system with exotic architectures.

I feel like the comparison is more apt than you're making it out to be.

Have you not played them? Nate is the main character in each of them, hence the name.

That's exactly why it doesn't make sense. Halt Mastercheif collection was called that because it excluded the non-mastwrcheif games. They should have just called it "The Uncharted Collection" because it's just as descriptive.

Not sure why they decided to cut the MP.

Couldn't they have made it crossplay with PS3 multiplayer even? Getting the two playerbases together would ensure to not split and would keep the games alive longer.

Perpahs they actually WANT to actively move people to UC4 MP, UC2 and UC3 MP shutdown could be coming to a close, after all they are 2009 / 2011 games.

Unless they do some major revamps to the gunplay and movement, UC1 is pretty dated and hasn't aged well.

I've played through the trilogy less than half a year ago and UC1 is nowhere near close to being as "dated" and "bad aged" as people are making it sound. Each next game had better overall mechanics sure but I've gone through UC1 just fine and never actually felt that the game was lacking anything from UC2/3. The difference between them all is minimal.

Only thing is it's a different studio doing this collection, I don't think all 3 uncharteds are going to get the same love last of us remastered got.
And I assume they get the necessary support from Naughty Dog to do exactly that. They even stated gameplay tweaks, whatever that turns out to be. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

They should have just called it "The Uncharted Collection" because it's just as descriptive.

Nah, that sounds lame. The Nate Drake Collection is fine.

The Marcus Fenix Collection would have been fine, if MS went through with a full Gears series remaster, as well.

It also was more recent, included the DLC, and did not remove the multiplayer / DLC from the game.

yeah and it was only a single game vs 3 sp games here and a uc4 beta access.

those games didn't have mp. it's not like you can remove levels from sp, can you?

give me a break.

Actually to me this sound more extensive.

Well on the one hand they might be making more engine-level improvements, but they are cutting multiplayer so that's a definite knock against them. Doesn't bother me as I never got into UC multi, but obviously a lot of people were understandably excited about that aspect of these remasters.

Maybe with the MPs all three games wouldn't fit into one disc. So maybe we have the options to download it as separate free DLCs if we wants it.

With three games on disc, I wonder if they have re-jiggered it to make all the video cutscenes real time now, like U4. Otherwise wouldn't there be around 4-6 hours of 1080p 60fp video to store?

The lack of MP doesn't bother me, and it makes sense. No need spending a lot of resources on the MP when there will be a beta for UC4 many will prefer to play. I know that is what I would do if the MP was included, I wouldn't even touch it because of the UC4 MP beta.

I'm not worried about value at all with this collection. I find this series to be one of the most replayable shooters there are. Gonna put a lot of time into this.

Booty us NA plebs have to wait a few extra days.

Still- makes me a happy cat.
dancing-cat-o.gif

lmfao this gif is great! Japanese song I guess?

I had no idea this many people played MP

I bought each game, played through the campaign once and put it back on the shelf

0_0 bruh you missed out. There really isn't anything else like it in the market. My most favorite MP experience of last gen.

I put like 200 hours into UC3. It was godlike.

This guy right here knows what's up

It doesn't make sense. Every UC game stars Nate Drake, so there's no distinction that needs to be made. Beyond that, it doesn't even HAVE one of the UC games that stars Nate Drake!
