Don't think they will. Even their steam link device specifically says it supports xbox one and 360 controllers wired and with wireless dongles.

I wondered that same thing. I'll bet it comes down to Wolfenstein being more recognized in the mainstream, especially to console gamers. Then again, maybe nobody testing these things has gotten their skill to the point where they can even pretend to be competitive online. The learning curve has got to be deceiving on these things because replacing the speed and precision of a mouse after it's become second nature to many is difficult.

Because playing a game like Cities: Skylines (as shown in the trailer) with an Xbox controller is (a) not possible out of the box and (b) even if you set it up, most likely sucks a lot harder than playing it with a dual touchpad system.

It's always funny seeing people trying to trash it, especially when it comes from people who think dual analog would have been an ideal solution for the game.
On topic: I'm hype as hell for this controller. I would love to play something like FTL, Civ 5 or Total War games with it from the couch or treadmill.
The point of this controller is that you can play pretty much anything with it - the operating system (and therefore the game) detects it as a keyboard and mouse.

Hmm. Tempting to get this and the link, if only because I'd like to leave my mac mini for HTPC duties. But I might hold off for impressions on both setups. If the controller is good, I'd want to use it both on the link and on my PC, so switching easily between the two will be important. If the controller isn't good, I'd still want to hear how good the link is, and what other controllers it might work with.
I'd also like to know if the link will support the xbox one wireless adapter when it releases. If I have to buy another controller for it, I'd prefer an xbox one over a 360 pad but it needs to be wireless.
Fingers crossed there is a decent steam home streaming setup by Christmas.

You can fling the ball with your thumb and grab it to stop, and use different areas of your thumb to roll the ball. If you watch the thumbs in that video they are very active on mouse games, and that's bad. You can also place a trackball mouse in any location and retain complete control, no grip necessary. I rest mine on chair arms, couch cushions, my chest, my leg, the laptop, etc.
Certain tasks are very difficult with a thumb ball, like drawing, but other things are great. It's also great for carpal tunnel because, again, you can set it anywhere. If civ 5 is your main desire then an excellent option has been long available.
Yeah, that's the only part which annoys me.
It isn't shaped like a normal controller. It arches your hands in a weird way. I'm not surprised people would have that impression
Because it looks like you can actually play an FPS on it and be decent at it for once with a controller.

For games like that though, why wouldn't you just stick with the mouse and keyboard? Valve's argument is for comfy couch use a KB&M isn't always practical. But then for games like Cities:Skylines, I imagine it would be difficult to play sitting 8-10ft away from a big TV anyway?
There are quite a few games that would need fundamental UI changes to support sofa play more than just having a nice control scheme.

.I think £39.99 isn't bad, if you could actually get it for that. A PS4 pad costs similar, and an Xbox One pad if you factor in the likely cost of a wireless dongle is also similar.

Ever since this controller was first announced and shown, I've been really looking forward to getting my hands on one. I really want to mess around with the configuration of it to suit just about any game I have, and I'm hoping that it will be my go to gamepad for the foreseeable future. I remember a post a long while back, probably taken from some other forum though, that detailed just how versatile the controller really is. It was about the prototype, but I assume the release version would have those capabilities. Really wish I could find that post though...it really assuaged any fears of it not being capable.

Wish Valve would have taken a hint from Logitech.
Make it use AA or AAA but include rechargeable Eneloop batteries that the control itself can charge when plugged.
