Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Jak and Daxter HD Collection was $40.
Ratchet and Clank HD Collection was $40.
The Sly Collection was $40.
The God of War Saga was $40.
The Splinter Cell HD Collection was $40.
The Prince of Persia HD Collection was $40.
The Hitman HD Collection was $40.
The Tomb Raider HD Collection was $40.
The Devil May Cry HD Collection was $40.
The Infamous Collection was $40.
The Killzone Collection was $40.
The Resistance Collection was $40.
The Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection was $50 (5 games).
The Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy Collection was $40.

There's a very obvious precedent for these sort of collections and people really aren't being unreasonable when they point out that this is overpriced.
Those are PS3 games.
Also thats weird, here in the UK PS3 collections( not PS2 HD Collections) was £30-40(basically $60+), while it seems all HD Collections and even the new Remasters this gen which range from £30-50 here are like £20 for you guys.
How much was Platinum games in the US, They're £20 here.

Also these are Reworked games, all of those are just straight ports and bundles

Very disappointed that there's no multiplayer. That was what I was most looking forward to. Sony is imo missing a big first party MP title and this could have been what Halo:TMMC is for Xbox (except for the server problems of course).

Hopefully that means Sony is confident about UC4's MP.

they don't really need a big first party MP title. everyone just plays destiny, cod, battlefield on consoles.

sad truth.

I'm still waiting on my DOOM Beta from Wolfenstein: The New Order. :P

totally forgot about that. i still have mine as well. never redeemed it. hopefully they announce something at e3.

Sales bin, or no sale from me. Hope other Canadians follow suit, these game prices are ridiculous. Makes me sick how bad our dollar is.

Best wishes.

Seeing as how Bloodborne was 39.99 just 2 months after release, despite being 69.99 at launch, the best bet for this is waiting a couple of months, or if the E3 preorder deal is good at BestBuy, to get it through that.

I personally have a bunch of E3 preorders from last year and the year before that I will be riding out. For any games I didn't have preordered, I either wait, or if they're multiplatform, I actually consider buying on PC for a significantly cheaper price.

Long story short, the inflated canadian prices are driving me to buy these games on PC despite preferring to game on consoles.

Besides the multiplayer not being in for somewhat understandable reasons, I find it completely unacceptable how they dare to make game unlockables included on the ps3 version a preorder exclusive and most likely DLC on the psn store later on.....

planetside 2 is coming in a couple of weeks.

Pray for a good BB (or Amazon) E3 sale again this year.

e3 deal! 30% off of regular games!

$80 dollar games plus tax = $85 less 30% e3 discount deals = $60!

yeeeeyyy!!!

blablabla

What we also know is that Uncharted 2 and 3 were heavily played on PS3 for its multiplayer. If you look at the trophy statistics, (which gives an incredibly false sense of perspective), over half the people who finish the games played the multiplayer. That's quite a lot for a franchise known for its single player when about 40% of the player base actually finished the game, (again a false sense of scale but you get the point).

Blablabla...

Euhmmm the trophy stats proves the opposite. The trophies shows that 40% FINISHED the game. And 25% played 1 MP match or more.

I played maybe 3 MP matches in total... I dont care at all about the MP, I'm not saying nobody played it, all I'm saying is you are reading those stats completely the wrong way...

Also, like i said earlier, value is totally subjective. I could pay 60 bucks for a remastering of FF7 with the remade textures etc

Its early access stuff, all that stuff is still in game.

Very nice, I've never played these games completely before.

Looking forward to a polished single-player experience (I don't care for MP).

Will pick up when ~$30

When can we expect some screenshots or some gameplay?

Weird that a remaster is announced, with no screenshots at all, if you ask me.

Yeah, I never had any problem with the campaigns. Some people did though but I wonder if they were playing co-op or not. Anyways, it shouldn't even be compared with this collection. MCC had 4 games, 100 MP maps(correct me if I'm wrong) combined from all games with probably 7 Halo 2 remade maps, Halo 2 is actually a remake and not a remaster, Halo 5 MP beta and finally fuck tons of MP modes. It's just a shame that 343 outsourced that shit or it would have been such a top notch release but oh well, they fixed a ton of the MP problems and for the most part works great now. Just less than a week they added ODST which is for free for those that had the game within the first month, 5$ expansion if not. Not to mention all games have split-screen + online co-op with only the first two games being 2 players, the rest are all 4 players.

All that for 60$. It's not even in the same league as the Nathan Drake collection lol. Anyways, what I am most interested in seeing is UC1 even though I'm not going to buy this collection.
don't understand why ppl like you are posting in the thread then? You aren't interested in the game at all but have this long essay about halo MCC? I'm mean really? Are u on the warrior path or what?

A remaster should remove modes/features from the original games? No...

Lack of multiplayer is disappointing but the rest of the package sounds solid (particularly the notion of in game enhancements) and it's a definite step up from some of the other value propositions put forward in remaster form this generation. I'd rather packages like this became the standard, or at the very least a baseline. Shit like God of War III Remastered, is fucking bunk, and some around here have expressed the desire to pay damn near full price for barely-remastered theoretical versions of single games, like they ought to pay no mind to that those same games are a couple bucks and change on PC. because fuck holding basic standards

Well that's one way to avoid the Master Chief Collection disaster... Just don't include multiplayer at all.

If price is an issue, just remember -- Black Friday is just a month and a bit away from the release date. I'm pretty confident there will be some deals.

I hope you're right. I just bought Unity for PS4 at $25 retail a month ago and I'm glad I avoided that $69.99 price hike. However seeing games at over $70 now, especially hovering near $90 with tax is absolutely nuts...

What an incredibly disrespectful post. I'd expect more from NeoGaf being a rather new poster here.

How does 40% of the player base finishing a game known for single player a positive thing while 25% of the player base trying the multiplayer a negative thing? Blows my mind.

Not even worth it with the removal of MP and co-op. If those modes were included even gladly pay the $75. Now, $30 at most.

It's just a shame that it's going to take longer to get to that price point.

I have Uncharted 4 pre-ordered from Amazon with a price guarantee of $52. Paying more than that for 3 games I already own minus features that I invested more time into than the SP campaigns, no thanks.

Naughty Dog are busy with possibly up to 3 games in development right now, if they were to handle UC internally then that would give some weight to the "I want new IPs, not remasters" argument.

This way, Bluepoint get work, PS4 gets sales, Naughty Dog & BP get paid and ND get to work on UC4 and whatever else they're cooking up.

The reason they handled TLOU internally was because the PS3 team had only just come off the game anyway and felt it was a good learning experience to get to grips with the PS4 architecture.

Indeed. TLOU was a good way to explore the PS4 and update their engine for it, I am sure it helped them for UC4 and probably they laid the groundworks for BluePoint. And in this way no resources from ND are "wasted" on a collection.

I do hope ND is somewhat involved in the remastering/porting though, or that BP gets the freedom/budget/time to enhance the games.

The remastering would need to be substantial for me to want to play these games again. I enjoyed them the first time, but I don't know if they'll hold up well to a whole new round of playthroughs.

Uuu Bluepoint, excited :-D

Ehh UC4 MP beta though, I'm lukewarm, would have much more preferred a small single player demo.

Will buy anyway though!

Pace yourself. They're long games.... rushing will kill a lot of the enjoyment.

Don't worry. If I'm enjoying a game, I take my time. With inFAMOUS Second Son, I would take breaks at the top of certain buildings and just enjoy the view. Photo Mode ensures I'll be taking breaks in Uncharted.

My only hope is that this game has 3 Platinum trophies (1 for each title).

Jak and Daxter HD Collection was $40.
Ratchet and Clank HD Collection was $40.
The Sly Collection was $40.
The God of War Saga was $40. - Bundle of pre-existing games, not new remasters. shouldn't be included. God of War 1 & 2 HD were $40 at launch, Origins was $40 when it launched. God of War III was $60 when launched
The Splinter Cell HD Collection was $40.
The Prince of Persia HD Collection was $40.
The Hitman HD Collection was $40.
The Tomb Raider HD Collection was $40 - one remaster, one port from 360 version, one pre-existing. Not the same thing. Should not be included.
The Devil May Cry HD Collection was $40.
The Infamous Collection was $40 - Again a bundle of pre-existing games. Should not be included.
The Killzone Collection was $40 - Bundling of 2 pre-existing games and one new remaster, Killzone 1 HD was $20 standalone.
The Resistance Collection was $40 - Again Bundle of pre-existing games.
The Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection was $50 (5 games) - Again a Bundle of pre-existing games, Metal Gear Solid HD Collcetion launched with 3 games and was $50
The Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy Collection was $40 - Again a bundle of pre-existing games should not be included.

There's a very obvious precedent for these sort of collections and people really aren't being unreasonable when they point out that this is overpriced.

A bunch of things in there that should not be included. While there were remasters last gen that included 3 games for $40. There were remasters that released 2 for $40 as well. There's a precedent for this sort of thing already, and Bluepoint remasters pretty much always come at this price point ($20 per game) and have consistently been the highest quality remasters released.

I... Wasn't disrespectful. If you are refering to the 'blablabla' its because i didnt want to quote a gigantic post where I only argue one part of it, huge quotes aren't welcome in neogaf. That said, I apopllgize for that.

Back to the argument, I'm not saying one stat is bad or the other, I'm just saying that whoever just tried the MP even once ever, will appear in the 25%. So that means that out of all the people that bought the game only 1/4 actually clicked on the MP option in the menu.

The 25% who did play multiplayer on UC2 appeared to enjoy it well enough based off of these stats: the global averages are solid.

Heh, indeed. At least no person will buy this for the online mode.

However, I think it I more of a business decision to push the whole fanbase over to UC4, to increase chances for a bigger active community from the go. UC4 is relatively close around the corner by the time this is in the store (as in, probably about 6 months? and with a beta inbetween that comes with this collection).
