Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

I really hope this bombs out of principle. $75 for 3 old games and MP removed? Ridiculous. It won't bomb though. Plus I'll still cave and get it one day. I'm weak.

Get it during an E3 preorder deal, or wait a couple of months after it releases. Unless you're a digital only gamer.

I was going to post this, but then I thought, wait, they're buying the collection to see if they like Uncharted so they can buy UC4. They're not buying to access the multplayer beta, if they like the games and the beta, they'll be buying UC4 anyways.

1) You don't know that every has the money to buy every game they want
2) We don't know if UC4 will be any good, or if MP will be broken, filled with microtransactions, etc...
3) UC2 MP is known to be good
4) If the game had included MP, and they liked it, that may have been all a lot of people needed without buying UC4.

I hate this gen...there's no imagination. I am so damned sick of remasters.
Its prep for Uncharted 4 and a welcome package for all the newcomers to Playstation. We're still getting our new games.

And if the selection of current gen AAA games is anything to go by then those games need even longer to cook this time around.

Okay and your point ?

I'm gonna assume since you said "fuck Sony" you are from Canada ?

Blame Canada not Sony

No MP except for the UC 4 Beta MP? I mean why? I love TLOU:R not only because of the SP but because I can still play it every day if I wanted thanks to the MP. I am not buying on release a remastered collection if I can see it used for $20 a month after release because people will trow it away as soon as they finish the story of each game.

i can kinda see why they decided to focus on Uncharted4 MP instead. they would have had to not only include both MP from 2 and 3 but all the balancing and matchmaking troubles that come with it. this way, Bluepoint will port the game and Naughty Dog won't have to be on the hook for fixing MP problems when Bluepoints' contract is up.

Not too worried about the lack of MP, I never really got into Uncharted MP it just never felt as tight as Gears. Will pick it up for the single player though, any old excuse to play through Uncharted 2 again.

have you been playing mordor, dragon age and witcher with your eyes closed or what..?

Yea if only there were original ip's like Bloodborne...oh wait there are.

You obviously know what he meant. This generation clearly has less games being made, especially new I.Ps than previous generations in the same time frame.

Secondly this generation has the strongest spotlight on remasters/hd collections than ever before.

When hd collections came out on the PS3 for example they weren't highlighted the way they are in this generation. Last year the big holiday release was a collection on the Xbox one, and now we have a collection on the ps4, plus a remaster in the Xbox one again being released during the busiest period of gaming.

Remasters and collections last time were generally released in quiet periods, and with next to no push. The way dark souls 2 was released was ok, fairly under the radar, at the same time as a big release (bloodborne). They could do the same with halo collection and uncharted, but instead they're choosing to bend us over more and release them seperately with more hype to make the most of them.

Yes we're not forced to buy them, and I don't care that they're released, infact I've bought remakes and remasters already, tomb raider, last of us, gta v etc

But it's not a good sign for this generation...I bought those remasters because they're better than new games for the new consoles, that isn't a good thing lol. I'm excited for gears of war on the Xbox one this year, again I shouldn't be. I should be excited to play brand new games.

I'm playing "hd versions" of last gen games on my new console, the hd games are arguably better than new games released on brand new consoles, my most awaited games this year again are remasters.... tell me how that scenario should even be a thing.

It's $60 in the US and that price has been maintained in Canada. In the UK it's over $75 US and over $95 CAD.

But what does your currency matter? It's 500 in my currency, your 75 doesn't beat that.

I... don't understand this. All I said was it's $75 (which it is) and that that price is far too much for me for 3 old games! Currency doesn't matter, but perceived value does. I'm sure there are people who'd gladly pay $75 for this but sadly I have to draw the line somewhere. This costs more than most brand new games in my currency which is why I think it's a bad price.

$75CAD is $60.0574

That's all I said.

As far as potentially no mp its not a massive deal because they would probably have the patched versions which stink. If it was uc2 1.04 or before than I would be excited but otherwise meh. Would be nice but not worth not playing the remasters.

Honestly? I love them. 1. No one is forcing anybody to buy them 2. A dedicated studio is making them 3. I get to play last gens top titles in 1080p/60fps (the way they should be played).

Hope this trend continues well into PS5/XBX. Then Im going to replay games like Bloodborne in 4k/60fps and it will be awesome.

I held out to buy/play tlou on ps3 and man, that game on ps4 was just gaming nirvana.

Its not like the studios all of a sudden stopped making games.

Yeah I figured it was about $60. Sadly how much I make hasn't been adjusted to coincide with the shittiness of our dollar, making $75 games a bummer :(

Yeh, it's expected with currency fluctuations that the price of imported goods go up.

That's why i'll be sticking with games published in Canada from now on as the price has stayed the sa..... oh.

Pace yourself. They're long games.... rushing will kill a lot of the enjoyment.

They're not though, really. UC1 is like 6-8 hours, 2 & 3 are around 8-10. So for a first playthrough you're looking at maybe 26-28 hours total. A little over one TLoU.

But I agree you shouldn't rush through them. 2 & 3 in particular have a lot of great environments to take in, and some really nice calmer moments where you can just relax for a bit.

Well, that's a different issue :(

His currency matters.... because that's what he has bank account?

And typically for a lower valued currency, your wages reflect that. But it seems not from his above post.

Hmm you don't have to buy it bruda.

Plus you still get a next gen Uncharted in a couple months.

Eh? This comment is such a paradox.
And it's 60 bucks.
