Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Those who complain are multiplayer players and also dont understand that Uncharted was famous for single player story but not for multiplayer (which wont last because it will stop working once servers are shut down so its like renting but single player which will work forever thats what we are paying here to own). Also we are getting new multiplayer from UC4 in 4-5 (beta in 2-3) months so it makes no sense not to include them because no one wants to play them when we have next gen multiplayer.

Jesus thank you.

I thought I was all alone and crazy to think that I shouldn't be excited to play games that pushed set pieces and characters into new heights.

I only ever bought Uncharted 2 & 3 after playing the multiplayer betas. I only played the first after borrowing it from a friend, and even then I didn't like it that much. Multiplayer has always been a big part of the Uncharted draw for me, and it's more than just competitive modes that they're leaving out.

Don't know what to say to that. I feel bad for you I guess? I mean sure multiplayer is pretty fun. But those games were pushed more for their campaigns than anything. E3, gamescom always showed off mostly single player pieces.

Most awards UC2 got were for story, voice acting, graphics.

I know it'd be a lot of work, but I feel a little resentful all the same. This was the one chance.

Your missing out on what naughty dog is known for. Jak and Daxter, Crash, Nathan Drake didn't get popular because of multiplayer.

They got popular because of great characters, animation, story, and gameplay.

Trivia question:

How did that book end up with a bullet hole? Answer by naming the person.

Trick Question - It's actually
Roman
who caused the hole.

PS3 prices:

Uncharted 1: $13
Uncharted 2: $7
Uncharted 4: $13
Total: $33

PS4 1080p 60fps no MP:

$60?

So just wait until the collection drops in price like all those PS3 games eventually did, until it meets a sum that you're happy to pay. These remasters always decrease in price pretty rapidly anyway.

That's not a fair assumption.

I've beaten each Uncharted game 3-5 times, including Golden Abyss, I've even platinumed all of them. Yet I still spent more time playing the MP and co-op.

I have friends on PSN that still play uncharted a few times a week. What do you think keeps them around? It's definitely not the SP content.

I understand that they want to focus on U4 multiplayer. But that doesn't mean MP isn't a deciding factor for a lot of people. Jeez, just look at this thread.

Atleast they'll work out of the box.

But yes, i'm also kinda shocked people complain about the multiplayer. I think they would have complained whether there was UC2 multi but not UC3 multi, or the other way around.

I personally always thought it was throwaway garbage, just to entice people during that time where everything needed to have a multiplayer component even if it was halfassed nonsense to compete with the FPS genre

Your argument would work if all it takes to get them to 1080p/60 (completely ignoring the various things they've said have been improved as well) is a push of a magical button.

As some of have said, as a former MS supporter turned to Sony in this current generation, I am excited I finally get to play the Uncharted series like I wanted to all along. Sometimes Remasters really do work out in the end.

Commence the celebratory dancing!

That's because the single player looks better and can be used to present under controlled conditions without much difficulty. The single player in Uncharted 2 & 3 are great, don't get me wrong. But I played each twice, once through normally, and once on crushing. Then I never felt the desire to play through them again. Even now. But I played the multiplayer modes for long after, and I'd still be excited to play them again with graphic and frame rate improvements.

Clearly this package isn't for me. But it's not as though they'd release an Uncharted Multiplayer Collection, so I guess the only package that will be for me is Uncharted 4.

That's nuts. There's nothing out there that's like Uncharted's multiplayer. And it wasn't throwaway in the slightest. They had a bunch of competitive team modes, and both co-op survival and adventure modes. Uncharted 3 even added in split-screen play.

I completed all three, but its been a while, and I'd be interested in the UC4 beta. My only concern is Bluepoint delivering on the 1080p 60fps. Probably will buy...

People saying no MP no buy and I've been sitting here in the Halo 4 playlist for over 20 minutes. $60 with no MP is a little absurd though, but at least you got blue point on it

E3 2009

E3 2011

E3 2012

PSX 2014

All from Campaign, trailers came out months or so after showing MP, leading up to release.

Which section do you think as a company SOny and Naughty Dog focus on?

I'm looking forward to fighting the
yeti
in Uncharted 2. I completely forgot about these, but when I started reliving the game in my head I remembered. Still, this is one of my favorite franchises, so I'm pretty happy.

Uhhh I love GAF for gaming news but damn if it isnt a E3 spoiler!!! lol

I feel like all the leaks force companies to announce early.

This one obviously isn't a surprise but its good for Sony biz. No multiplayer sucks but obviously its for UC4 MP to have its own space. TLOU has multi so no harm there.

This is the right move. Remasters are good business. They save code and allow devs to refresh a product and pitch to completely different audience. New PS4 owners that never had a PS3 get to play these games and and the devs get a boost off a successful secondary project.

I think using remasters as titles to pad the year around big primetime releases is healthy for everyone in the gaming market.

Ain't the online kind of dead in U2? also I know some people still play U3 but the MP became F2P so what exactly is your point?
On top of that they are not just doing 1080/60fps but also doing some graphical improvements and other stuff, that right there merits the extra $27 for the effort put into it. Unlike others *cough* SR IV, Sleeping Dogs, GOW III *cough*

Well I'm sold.
I personally only play Uncharted for the single player campaign, but it sucks if they don't include some sort of multiplayer.

This makes me wonder if we will see the same backlash from newcomers when transitioning from uncharted 2 to 3. Lol that shit was hilarious. Loved all 3 games!

Couldn't agree more. It's like people act like the games are only half the content because of no MP, when the games when released were advertised solely for their Single player campaigns.
I thought the multiplayer stuff was just a bulletpoint until I actually played it. Both the versus and co-op modes were so much better than I would have ever expected them to be. Pure fun, all around.

No-MP isn't a deal-breaker for me but it does lessen the value overall.

It's okay, you get to play the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta for a few weeks at best, which is just as good as having a dedicated multiplayer suite.

As funny as this may sound, I think these remasters might have just sold me on a PS4 later in the gen when it's cheaper. I came this close -> || to buying a PS3 when TLOU came out but decided against it as I'd only be interested in UC and TLOU from the PS exclusives and didn't think it was worth only 4 games were worth it (yes I know, TLOU :( )

Now later this gen I'll be able to get a PS4 for cheap and get to play UC 1-4, TLOU, and 2-3 more ND exclusives? That seems like a very good deal to me.

Bluepoint working on this is fantastic news. Personally, I was only interested in the single player campaigns, so this is right up my alley. UC4 MP is icing on the cake. Will definitely buy.

I can understand why you or others feel it's not worth it when you compare to bundles like the Halo one, but all you gotta do is wait and the price will drop...

I agree, and I want it so bad. But I really want a Uncharted 2 remade, imagine the village chapter running in the PS4
