Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Very happy with the price myself and no issue with no multiplayer.

There's an active community on the PS3 and I don't really see the point in them spending money to split that community for a few months, particularly when Uncharted 3's multiplayer is available for free on the PS3. I just don't see the benefit in creating a new community on the PS4 in October just to start again a few months later when Uncharted 4 hits.

In terms of pure value for money, the best remasters have been Metal Gear Solid HD/Legacy and Halo MCC.

In terms of the quality of the remastering, the best I've seen so far is The Last of Us, MGS and Ico/SOTC.

Considering Bluepoint did MGS and Ico/SOTC, I think we're in great company here.

60 bucks isn't a bad deal considering the games still retail MSRP for 20 each anyhow...though I do wish they had done UC2 multi-player a la MCC, but hey...that's fine. You're gonna get ~30 hours of pure, awesome Naughty Dog fun (more if you go through them on higher difficulties, etc)./ That's more than enough.

Don't forget Metro Redux. That was an awesome remaster too and good value for money.

People complaining about lack of online aren't thinking this through. They WANT you to play the Uncharted 4 Beta. Not uncharted 2 MP. The obvious idea is that once uncharted 4 releases you'll buy and want to play that.

You know they're going to resell the old maps and skins as DLC again for UC4.
Nah the UC4 beta is basically the that, a handfull of the old maps, and will be available day 1 with UC4 with a bunch of new maps.

Uhhh, everyone would play the Uncharted beta regardless.

We don't know when the U4 beta will be available or for how long, do we? There's no way the beta window will somehow relinquish the desire or awesomeness of U2 multiplayer, and who knows when U4 will actually release. Even if released "Spring 2016", that's still 6-7 months after the remaster drops. This franchise must be popular enough and has the numbers to support multiplayer communities in each franchise, although I'm guessing most will migrate to U4 anyway.

$20 for each game doesn't sound bad to me.

Plus everybody knows it will be $40 by Black Friday.

Unfortunately, the loads of naive and drive by posters don't seem to understand this.

Could be still only $45. Regardless even newer games get the black friday discount, especially those newer sports titles that hit $35.

IIRC both the uncharted 2 and 3 betas lasted until the game released

I would imagine that MOST people will be way more into that uncharted 4 beta...so what's the point of having a completely separate online group?

A little tighter gunplay would be nice. I know you want UC to have its own feel, but borrowing a bit of shooting mechanics from TLOU wouldn't hurt!

I understand that the head of Bluepoint is the ex technical lead of Metroid Prime. Full respect for that. However, was anyone else disappointed with the frame rate of SOTC HD? I feel as though had Hexadrive handled the port it'd be running at a flawless 60fps in 1080p and 120fps 720p (3D). I think those guys are ex Capcom engine architects.

Anyway, here's hoping for a flawless up-port.

The replies on the PS Blog are infuriating.

We don’t want to split up our awesome U2 and U3 MP communities that we have right now either. Everyone who buys collection will get U4 MP Beta access and it’ll be a fun way to get ready for U4!"

LOL. Yeah, okay. But that didn't matter with TLoU remaster, when the community was far bigger than UC2 MP is after 7 years, right?

Just say you didn't have time or budget or something instead of spouting this nonsense.

Uhhh, everyone would play the Uncharted beta regardless.

Exactly. That excuse is ridiculous. And there's like six months between the release of the two games, which is a huge amount of time, considering the single player campaigns could all be completed leisurely in a week.

Exactly. Seems so obvious but people will like complaining first and thinking things through later. End of the day, having a chance to play a brand new and hopefully improved mp mode is better regardless.

It's so strange to think that this was always going to be revealed today. Why not make it a "one more thing" moment 'cause we know its not gonna be The Last Guardian.

Sony be like " We have one more game for you today, a franchise that has sold 21+ million copies, a playstation exclusive remastered for the PS4"
* Plays trailer - Fans see ND Logo , crowd roars *
Sony come back " That's right. You've asked for it, the Uncharted Collection will be hitting stores October 9th and you will get multiplayer access to Uncharted 4"
*Fans cheer*
*Sony drops mic and walks of stage*

They lost their mind on the GoWIII pricing. One of my favorite games of last gen but $40 is way too steep for one game without any major gameplay changes.
Whoever came up with that pricing was smoking something. At least the UC collection here gives you a full arc and lead-up to Uncharted 4 and makes for the perfect package for gamers new to Playstation. The GoW 3 remaster accomplishes none of these things. Its perfect audience is one that followed GoW in the PS2 days (and remembers it well) but then skipped out on the PS3 only to return to the PS4.

Yeah, I don't get it.

*Someone from the crowd: "What about multiplayer?"*
*Sony: Umm...We don't want to fracture our awesome existing UC2 MP community!"*
*Crowd boos*

The timing is odd too. You'd think they would wait until a new GoW was closer to release and it would be a more complete package.

I also find the Uncharted games a lot more replayable than a GoW game. They were my go to games when I was bored and just wanted to chill out with a game for a bit and nothing new. Having them on PS4 is a great value for me.

That's a shame, as their multiplayers are incredible. You're missing out.
the uncharted franchise never made its name on the MP part of the games, yes, some people enjoyed the MP but the install base was never to big, ND is know from their SP games and thats the main reason people buy their games

Uncharted 2 easily had 40-60k players in multiplayer daily leading up to the launch of Uncharted 3. It was pretty popular.
