NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This defeats much of the joy of the remaster for me. I'm all for better graphics and framerate, but playing in 3D added so much immersion to Uncharted 3. This is a downgrade.

I mean, back on the PS3 the remasters were actually getting 3D added into games that didn't have it before.

No longer a day 1 buy.

Expected, really.
Sucks for those who really wanted it tho.

Unfortunately, the 3D in UC3 is what doubled the game's size as they had to make the cutscenes in 3D as well which meant having two files of every cutscene. One for 2D and one for 3D. They're video files so they bloated the game's file size.

It was expected to be cut from the game so it could fit on one BD with the other two.

No multiplayer?

Hm....tempting. I've platinumed the first 3 and sold off 2 and 3. Might bite at some point down the line. But 3 is such a chore to play on Crushing.

TLOU: Remaster was actually down in house by ND, was just one game, and went with post-processing AA rather than MSAA though.
I'd assume the bluepoint will use the same engine and the same conversion process that ND created for TLOU remaster. Otherwise they'd be wasting insane amount of effort on something someone else already figured out. Yes, it was PPAA, but it was very good PPAA that tackled shader aliasing etc. MSAA alone is not a silver bullet. It only tackles non-transparent geometry edges. The Order used MSAA + PPAA for example, because even 4xMSAA alone is not enough to get rid of everything.

Holy shit YES!YES!YES!

BluePoint doing the the port? YES!YES!YES!

This is great news! I thought they werent gonna be able to get this done before U4.

One last thing, Sony offers GOW3 for $40 "me too expensive". (I agree)
Sony delivers 1080p/60fps(?) all 3 games for $60? "pass, no MP"

Im gonna go and disagree with the MP comments. First of all, porting both U2/U3 MP would be a stupid move. It would split the community. Not only that but they must want players interests in eventual U4's MP only.

Second, is BP gonna keep patching bugs/glitches/balance fixes for the U2/U3 MP ports? For how long? Would it ever end? Would Sony hire them solely to work on MP and never make other high level ports? Maintaining MP on a remaster must be a terrible job and not a feasible one long term. (Just look at Halo MCC)

Lastly remember that patch that supposedly broke or made U2 not as fun? Well do you guys want a bitchfest about this issue for a new gen? "Oh my god why did BP use that latest version of MP?! Not gonna buy it now and remember post patch instead lol".

Not everyone is gonna be please or was on the MP front. Good call on Sony/BluePoint. Id rather they use all their resources on SP since thats the meat and potatoes of the franchise. 1080P/60FPS with improved textures etc. Take my money!

PS: Also long time fans remember this is also mainly for those who jumped from Xbox to PS and to introduce new players before U4. This isnt just about catering to the hardcore who want U2 MP with patch 1.0 forever or whatever the fuck that was.

PSS: Only thing I would bitch about is NOT including LAN MP mode for Uncharted 3. At least leave that option for us to use tunneling services to play it on our servers or such. But its no biggie.

Why? I'm curious how a feature like this doesn't get carried over easily.

Whats the issue?

I don't need it or want it. Honestly just curious about what makes it difficult or time consuming.

Bloated the game's size. Two files for every cutscene, one is 2D the other is 3D. Every cutscene is a huge video file. They wouldn't be able to fit UC3 with 3D on one BD with UC1 and UC2.

Thanks. That's makes sense. I figured 3D was a function you could apply to existing graphics rather than something you'd need to make separate versions for. Guess not.

Seriously? I get it if 3D just isn't compatible with you for eye health reasons, but it's an awesome feature for any game to have, especially when you control the camera. Not to mention the full-screen local play replacing splitsceen that was available on certain TVs.

And ultimately it didn't hurt anyone to have it in there.

Much rather they use their resources on a smooth frame-rate and proper AA than any of that 3D waste of time.

If the cutscenes weren't pre-rendered video files and were done in the real-time engine, maybe it'd work the way you think but I don't think it's worth the resources, time, or effort to redo those cutscenes in real-time when the amount of people who would be able to take advantage of the feature is small.

I enjoyed each Uncharted less that the previous one, but wouldn't mind giving the first game another crack.

And as about a million people have said already, FUCK YEAH Bluepoint. If you're going to do remasters/ports, either do it internally, or get Bluepoint or M2 involved. Anything else is just asking for trouble.

There's a lot of 360 owners who went over to PS4 this gen.

This is something perfect for them.
Uc4 which was supposed to drop this year would've been perfect for them.
Majority...nawww.
Well it certainly fucking feels that way sir.
Not even close
other than bloodborne, the only critically acclaimed Ps4 games are tlour and (soon to be probably) gow3r. There doesn't seem to be any other must have Ps4 games.

The death of 3D couldn't of come any sooner.

I find it really interesting to see this everywhere. 3D isn't dead, it has simply changed in how you view it. VR is the new thing which relies on 3D for convincing visuals.

However, I do miss games like Uncharted (which would not be possible in VR) in 3D. So much extra immersion...

My PS3 is in the closet, permanently retired, and I've never finished Uncharted 2 or played Uncharted 3.

Also, 1080p/60fps is totally worth double-dipping for, as it was for The Last of Us. Actually, the increased resolution and framerate will benefit Uncharted's setpiece heavy action even better than it did TLoU.

My thoughts exactly! *rubs hands together*

This has got to be Bluepoints biggest project yet, there will be backlash a plenty if they botch this one. Get in there boys!

*Sony drops mic and walks of stage*

If a remaster of 3 PS3 games is their *drops mic* moment, then may as well not even show up at E3 (they aren't doing a gamescom either) and just ditch it and show up when they have something to release and/or announce, even though that may be into early 2016 because until then it seems they have nothing of value to release until then.

For the record I like the idea of this remaster even if I am not going to buy it because of the lack of MP. Will most likely get it really cheap used some weeks after launch like any other SP only game.

Uc4 is the end of an arc. Isn't it better to make the whole series available before releasing the final chapter?

Well it certainly fucking feels that way sir.
Maybe its not the number but the magnitude - these collections are taking the place of what would otherwise be the big holiday platform exclusives.

I love the games but I do miss the heavy hitter exclusives battling it out too. Remasters being known quantities, don't provide nearly as much fun.

Critics don't mean jack if you find a game and you enjoy it.

I liked infamous second son, I liked the order (for what it was) I'm not going to let another man's opinion tell me if my games I enjoy are allowed to be called 'good'

For example, I see a lot of trash talk for uncharted 1 I loved that game

Much rather they use their resources on a smooth frame-rate and proper AA than any of that 3D waste of time.

The irony of not wanted them to waste resources porting 3D, but instead work on something new, in a thread about a remaster.

You can easily apply all the logic of the remasters-are-good camp here:
You don't have to use 3D if you don't want to.
They can outsource the 3D work to another studio.
You're stilling getting smooth frame-rate and proper AA, 3D isn't stopping any of that.

These are all great points. Including MP for two games just isn't viable. Who is going to run and maintain it? Why split the player base when UC4 is just around the corner?

Man I'm probably going to buy this but has PSNOW save data ported over to these had collections in the past? I restarted Uncharted 2 on PS Now so I'm just curious if the Last of Us ports save data to the Remaster for a point of reference.

Eh, feel how you want, it just isn't the truth.

The PS4 wouldn't be selling if it didn't have "must have" games, you are probably just talking exclusives.

Now these are some incredibly valid points. Much better than those simply claiming nobody was interested in the multiplayer anyways.

No mp is a shame. I was really looking forward to that.

That said, it's still a day one buy for me.
Is that confirmed? I watched the trailer and saw no signs saying no mp, unless there was a press release. Don't Naughty always announce MP later than SP? It's what I've observed from them.
