Dark Souls III leaked info and screenshots [RUMOR - Better Details Write-Up]

Wow I honestly didn't believe the Dark Souls 3 rumor from the other thread. Now it seems legit but it also seems so quick, especially if Miyazaki is directing this one.

When exactly could development for this have started? After the release of DkS2? If so, has Miyazaki been working on this and Bloodborne at the same time? Was Bloodborne a quick cash-in (I don't mean this in a bad way) out of Sony's request? Will the Bloodborne team go help DS2 team in finishing up DS3 after finishing up the expansion? SO MANY QUESTIONS. It's really weird. I really did think Miyazki was going to focus on Bloodborne franchise while letting the other guy focus on Dark Souls.

Still I LOVE everything so far from the screenshots. It looks like a mix of Bloodborne and Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls. Like I get a vibe from each one of those games but not of Dark Souls 2. I don't think it's BB expansion since you clearly see bonfires and armor.

Not sure how you reached that conclusion. Some of the shots do look very much like Bloodborne in terms of colour palette, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of assets that look like they've been lifted straight from the game too.

What do you think all this spiny black stuff growing everywhere is?

Giant slug monster, tree thing on the right

Growing all over that building there

It's all over the place in this shot

Growing on that tower in the background

It does all seem to be in the same location, but it sure looks weird.

Humanity? The abyss spreading?

The hud looks very similar to DS1,

oh same people that leaked silent hills as a xbox exclusive, ill try not to get to hyped for this then lol

Leaks have changed.

It's no longer about Tom Morello, phone videos or blurry pics. It's an endless series of leaked games, brought by youtubers through gifs.

Leaks, and their consumption of hype, have become a well-oiled machine.

Leaks have changed.

Evil stuff leaking from the sun covering the lands in... erm, evil stuff.

Square literally released a mainline FF game every from 97-2002 except for 98.

Didn't hear many "milking" complaints back then.
Yeah if the quality is high this is a good thing. When a team is at its creative peak churning out work might lead to better results than a long break in between games.

What does "PC release is negotiable." mean?

Who's negotiating with whom? Sony will no pay to keep the game away from PC if it's on Xbox. Microsoft? That would be pretty funny. Who could possibly pay to bring the game to PC?

Sweet lord, if this has the sense of awe and wonder from DS1 and the general gameplay polish from DS2, this may very well become my favourite Souls game.

Pretty much that their focus won't be on the PC port, which they never actually really cared for to be honest. As long as it's a good port like DS2 and not the shit stain of a port that was DS1, only saved by Durante's grace.

Bloodborne like looks like dark souls though a next gen souls game... really what are people expecting? Made by the same company and all.

I don't have a PS4 to play bloodborne, so I have no problem with a 2016 release! Also, judging from the dark souls 2 DLC the "b-team" has learned from their mistakes in the main game, so bring it on!

What I really liked about blodborne, to an irrational degree, was the sidestepping and dogign without rolling. I want that all the time now.

Don't you think that if From spread their ideas over a longer period of time than that hypothetical future From Software might not be the mess you predict it to be?

Not really.

Its not really taking longer that makes things more interesting.

As long as they can put out quality in a reasonable time frame,I'll welcome it with open arms.

no pc version no buy simple as that.

Don't worry, if you can wait (maybe 6 months at most) you will get the PC Version. They are just being asses (if it is true) and want you to believe there won't be one and buy the Console Version, and then buy it again on PC after they announce it.

There is no way this will not be on PC.

That one guy i know who really likes souls games because of the PC versions is going to be happy since this game will obviously come to the PC whatever these guys are saying.

Namco and From wouldn't leave that kind of money on the table.

We're talking about table scraps. What's the going rate for the first 2 games on steam right now?

What if Bloodborne bring more money than Dark Souls 2 did?

It's a GTAV situation. Release on PC a year or 2 later.

Eh, you know what I mean though. Some of the screens look like they could easily be out of Bloodborne until you see the player character in a knight uniform. It's not even a complaint, just an observation. One that I welcome in fact.

I wasn't aware of the world until maybe FF12?
Any Veterans of Gaf weighing in?

Final Fantasy VII - 1997
Final Fantasy VIII - 1999
Final Fantasy IX - 2000
Final Fantasy X - 2001
Final Fantasy XI - 2003
Final Fantasy XII - 2005

If this rumor turns out to be truth. That will be 4 games in 5 years.
Is Dark Souls the next Call of Duty of rpgs?

Miyazaki was pulled off of the DLC from DS1 to start on BB (got that info from an article I read awhile back).

Im pretty sure BB wrapped up far before release and his involvement may have ended before that. My guess is that he worked on BB for about 70% of it, then was shifted to start directing DS3.

IF this is all true ofcourse..

If you told me this was the BB expansion I'd say wellthereitis.gif. Lot of those assets look wholesale lifted straight out of BB.

Bloodborne came to mind immediately when I saw these shots. Hopefully the rumours are true and we have something concrete at E3.

This image looks like the opening area in Bloodborne - railings in front of castellations, tower on the left, bridges in the distance.

And this is very much like the bridge area with the two dogs, ogre and crows

This one is down the big stairs where there are two ogres and a precarious drop (you know, where the mysterious door is you can't go through)

and this one looks like concept art for the area around the witches boss (hemwick lane?)

maybe earlier concepts using souls characters and they later changed the main character and tweaked the level architecture a little?

Something about this looks... off, somehow. It's hard to put my finger on it.

Maybe just because it's an early alpha.

For whoever wants it.

I don't know how I feel about this, especially if it's the 'B' team. I'd rather they worked on something else. As incredible as Souls is I feel like we could do with a bit of a break.

Also don't know if I could go back to the slower gameplay after playing Bloodborne, it'll feel like a step back.

Anytime we see Victorian architecture now, it automatically "looks like Bloodborne" huh?

There are some elements that are much more "Bloodborne" than "Victorian", such as cloaked statues lining the edges of a plaza, or what appear to be petrified in a praying/pleading posture. They weren't exactly cornerstones of the architectural style, so far as I'm aware.

As good as BB was, I'd like a return to the "builds" of DS. I thought it would be there in BB with the bloodgem system, but it wasn't. Which is fine. Still a great game. Just lacking where DS shines.

Also this shot is where I get the BB "influence". . .blood raining from the sky, a triumphant pose after dispatching a foe?

Sc8RqG7.jpg

Same boss. "Alternate" form (if you believe the leak) as a new boss mechanic.

The blood, sure. The pose depends on you.

Looks awesome if all those details are true. More like DkS1 in length, but designed with more replayability in mind. Day one buy regardless.

- PC release is "negotiable."
Meh. Call me again when PC release is confirmed.

(great screens tho)

Hope it has the lore and music as good as Dark Souls's but everything else more like Dark Souls II :)
