That info about arts sounds like a great addition if true. For heavy weapons builds Circle sounds like a good defensive ability that would make slower weapons more viable. I hope that part is true. Having a DMC3-esque style ability that changes how you play is a good mechanical add on that could be great.
Now I'm feeling motivated.
Also, I may have missed speculation, but this image is a sun leaking something, right? So we've just gone full blown Berserk levels of fucked. That's fantastic.
I mean, I want to be excited, but I haven't even finished BB.
Maybe next year I'll be feeling the itch for more Soul games, but I can't say I'm feeling it now. Still happy it is being made, though. Just not sure about the time.
Well the souls games have never really had massive budgets, it's one of the reasons why they can be so successful while still catering to a much more niche audience than most.
That and from a visual perspective, the art direction more than makes up for decent technical level graphics.
i know, but i dont want to get into the game when the community is already dying down and its harder to find other players.. and i have other games to play too.
it would just be much more exciting if they really took their time to craft something
truly amazing and polished (say 3-4 years), instead i feel they're just going through the motions and pumping these out asap to maximize profits. which is understandable i guess, just fails to make me excited.
Agreed, with how meticulously crafted and detailed these games are, Why not just take extra time to develop the game and make it even better? I'm amazed at how a team of their size are able to release such good games in that span of time but they can be even better with longer dev time which they can surely afford to given the success of previous games.
I still haven't started DS2 or BB (or DS1 DLC even) and I take forever ot play through these games so I'd welcome a longer dev time for DS3.
Also, is it me or is this getting less hype than DS2 and BB leak/reveal threads? I thought this thread would've blown up a lot more by now
From isn't the biggest developer. And I wouldn't call Dark Souls 2 or Bloodborne crappy looking really . But they clearly aren't big enough to give all areas in the games the same amount of polish. So there can be some mindblowingly ugly stuff in the games for sure, but overall I think they all look good.
Crappy graphics? What you talking bout. Sure, may not be the most advanced visuals and have crappy performance, but they look good with some rough places here and there but on the flip-side, also some great looking places as well.
Maybe you're talking about the performance. Yeah I dunno why, I thought they'd ultimately improve over time but DS2 showed otherwise.
Well, yeah, sure, but depends on what they're calling areas.
If every bonfire represents an area, then 12 is way too little content, but if each area is like Central Yharnam, Cathedral Ward, Old Yharnam or Yahar'gul, 12 is fine.
Bloodborne had pretty much:
Central Yharnam, Cathedral Ward, Old Yharnam, Upper Cathedral Ward, Hemwick, Forbidden Woods, Byrgenwerth (barely an area), Cainhurst, Yahar'gul, Lecture Building, Frontier and Mensis. Those are what I would call areas in Bloodborne, but if they're counting stuff like Hunter's Dream, Hypogean Gaol or Abandoned Old Workshop as areas, then 12 is definitely not a lot of content. And I'm not shitting on them, I love all of those, I just hope they weren't considering things like that when saying 12 areas.

Im okay with less areas, so long as each gets enough care and thought put into them as the first Dark Souls and BB did. I doubt itll be an issue though.
"omg from is milking the cow wahhh" and dumb kermit drinking lipton memes. God it's like all the people who dislike these games come out of the woods to shit post. Bloodborne started it's development After Dark Souls, while Dark Souls 2 had it's own team. The period between Dark Souls 2 and 3 would be sufficient if it's a 2016 release which i still doubt. After all Dark Souls 2 was announced in 2012 and released in 2014.
Many rooms look very empty and barren, especially compared to Bloodborne.
Probably because they were meant to be lit in more interesting ways, before the downgrade.
Look at the skeleton dragon room for an example of this.
Where did they say it were was it not true?
Dark souls had 22 bosses at launch with 3 of them being the same.
It also says 15 NEW bosses so there might be some returning bosses
Calling it now....PC release will be postponed a few months to capitalize on the fanboys who cannot wait to play more souls. Easy way to sell the same game twice to the same person. I'd imagine it worked out amazingly for DK2
I don't fully believe that they'll not release a PC version, at the point DSII PC it's the highest selling SKU or at least as big as the console version.
