New Devil's Third Trailer (Itagaki/WiiU, Japan - Aug 4, retail is Amazon exclusive)

I'm still very positive about Devil's Third, same as I've been last year. Saw the new footage and it looks to be an action game with lots of gameplay variety and cool stuff to play around with. Look at all those different moves, the speed of the gameplay, the quick changes between TPS and character action gameplay, the over-the-top sillyness of the characterdesigns. And last, not least: The multiplayer looks really fun! If this also includes Itagakis trademark "tight hard gameplay" - I'm absolutely in!

What I understand is saying "This game is not featuring the best possible graphics", especially since graphic quality is another trademark of Itagaki. Yeah, it looks rough at times, but come on, PS2, seriously? That's hyperbole. If you look away from the big AAA games on PS3 and Xbox360, you'll get lots of midtier budget games which look similiar when it comes to graphic quality. Now art direction on the other hand, to have a full opinion on DTs art direction, I'd need to see more of the game. The stages look a bit empty, while character animation is great. Character style is hit or miss (for me, it's hit, but I also love B-movies :P). I like the colours and the settings a lot, they remind me of Ninja Gaiden and Japanese arcade games. And it certainly improved since last year. Hope it is 60FPS throughout.

I hope we get a really cool trailer for E3 (or a translated version of the "Itagaki talks" trailer) and are able to put up preorders soon, as well. This might be a blast to play and I am very excited to finally play a new Itagaki game again. Hope my impressions are not wrong :)

If this looks like a PS2 game, I think I got cheated back when I bought mine.

These excerpts made me a little bit hyped. Looks like trash and I like it. Even the Vanquish powerslide!

Everyone complaining about the PS2 era gfx should really set their priorities straight. There's a weekly load of high celebrated indie games with SNES era gfx. Stop caring so much about polycounts and shaders! Good games have good (art) direction.

So long as it isn't a terrible game, I'm in. The multiplayer looks really fun and I want Nintendo to know that they should be trying to get more games in genres outside of their comfort zone.

I can't get interested in this game because of what a scumbag Tomonobu Itagaki. I realize I should just shut peoples lives who are making the game out of my mind and just focus on the game itself but... I just can't.

It is nice to see that it has been improved since its last showing tho.

Looks heavy improved from what we seen last year, expecially really clean graphics and pretty stable framerate.

For the rest, looks a crazy project and I love what I see, I only hope a good number of people will buy this, because multy seems to be really fun and I want to play it.

Looks like complete butt, but all the animations and stuff look way more polished and it still at least looks like its fun to play so far.

I was not aware he's a bad guy but no, it doesn't make you weird.

If you don't want to support someone based on developer attitude you'd probably end up not supporting a lot of them - there are a lot of bad apples behind the scenes. I can't blame you though - it's easier to make a decision when you give them a face in the public, and for what it's worth, it's for similar reasons why I don't want to support someone like Phil Fish.

The graphics are good enough for me, and the gameplay looks pretty fun. This might end up being the closest thing to Vanquish 2 that we'll ever get.

Really well said. As the saying goes "ignorance is bliss." I often wish I didn't know as much about games as I do and instead just focus on, ya'know, playing them.

Multiplayer looks fun but the solo campaign I'm not sure.

I'll wait for more footage and reviews, but I'll probably buy it if I can find a good price.

Will buy because it's fucking ITAGAKI and it's a fun looking B tier game that people lament going extinct so loudly, but never actually end up supporting.

I know some japanese. Here's what I could pick up.

* The main character is trained to become the ultimate terrorist. Is he trained in the art of ninjutsu and modern day combat. He gets caught by nato and later he joins the good guys to fight terrorism.

* The multiplayer takes place(after the single player?). A group of rebels fight to take back America?

*Itagaki apologizes for delaying the game several times. He is happy to release today's information.

Something like that. Correct me if I'm wrong. X)

Are these watermarked, or does it actually put its own name in the HUD?
