Rogue Galaxy trailer

Holy crap, that was amazing. Looks like a more free form version of Dark Cloud 2's combat, as well as the addition of computer controlled partners.

wow. Level 5 is doing some impressive shit as of late. who would have thought this when they made Dark Cloud? Bravo Level 5 keep up the good work

Thumbs up, great looking stuff. A lot of it made me think of it as a cel-shaded answer to FFXII. Looking forward to any later trailer in English, and more compact (this one 7+ minutes).

I'm not finished watching it yet, but I no longer question why it took so long for Sony and L5 to show this game. It looks like one of the most expensive games Sony has been involved with so far.

Alot of it is CG and there's real time stuff through it. You can tell the difference although the real time stuff still looks really good.

Indeed. Artistically, it's gorgeous and for a PS2 game, it looks astounding. I was kind of shocked to see 2005 at the end of the trailer.

This looks and sounds great, the RPGs just keep on coming to PS2 now. I loved Dark Chronicle, so I'm definitely looking forward to this.

holy crap that looks good. this game is mine

i expect this level of quality for next gen cel shaded games

the action looks tons better than dark cloud 2's

SUGOI O_O

I can't even imagine what Level-5 and/or Square-Enix next-gen titles will look like....

Man, Sony should try to keep Level-5 on PS3 as hard as possible....

I think the character animation deservers some props, especially when the guy and his probable love interest are talking on the ship.

simply awesome!! Dungeon crawler?

This looks like it has huge production values. I don't think Sony would pay out that much for a dungeon crawler considering they usually aren't that popular. This seems more like their effort to establish a serious big budget RPG to lead into next gen.

I don't like some of those character designs. That cat-guy doesn't look like he'd actually exist, he looks like "what would it look like if a cat was a guy?" It looks pretty good overall though.

dark cloud 2 had huge production values :(

Yeah, the areas for starters don't look random

Good trivia question:

Can anyone name the developer (now dead) that most of Level 5's staff came from?

I bet Jarrod knows. ;-)

Sega?

Holy shit! Just finished watching the trailer. Amazing! This is what happens when you give Level 5 more than a 50 dollar budget!

Game of the year!

I think Hino worked on Overblood (Raverhill). I don't know if they went under though.

Winner! Most of the staff formed Level 5 after Riverhillsoft filed for bankruptcy. Along with CyberConnect, they've put Fukuoka on par with the best Tokyo and Osaka dev teams.

shit just saw the trailer, that looks freaking incredible! I love the settings! OMG please don't be a dungeon crawler!

Well, based on the battle scenes there is going to be a lot of fighting, I would just rather see dungeons with some thought, rather then random. I'd be happy with that.

I sorta remembered Hino working there because I couldn't believe that he went from making games the quality of Overblood to where he is now. But I guess I sholdn't be too surprised considering all the developers that leave after making amazing games to form new teams and then put out bad game after bad game.

Looks better than some X360 games, IMO...

Solid, how much was the budget for this game and how long in development has it been?

Does Level 5 have more than one team???

I would think so, since they worked on:

Dark Cloud 2
True Fantasy Live Online
DQ8
Rogue Galaxy

In the course of 3 years....that is a TON of work...they must have 2 teams, right??

If so, which one did this game and what did they do before?

I don't know the budget, i'm saying it looks like the production values are very high. And it was announced back in 2003.

Ah. That trailer was very nice.. even if I've lost all interest in all JRPGs.
