Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

Which just as easily said contract would say "the more money above X amount you raise the less additional budget we'll give you".

No one knows the details of this contract so it could easily go either way.

And you're saying Iga and his agents would sign that kind of ridiculous contract?

Y'know what, never mind. Your ideas are ridiculous and it's a waste of time to give them thought.

Made around $100,000 in the first quarter of the day. And all of us in the Americas are still snoozing.

Is it going to be weird when you wake up and find out you post in your sleep? I wouldn't trust my sleeping self with the Internet.

The dead are always sleeping. But when you sleep while dead, it kind of cancels out and you end up awake anyway.

Okay seriously, now you're just pulling stuff from your ass to prove a non-existing point, aren't you?
Because I stopped taking you seriously three of your posts ago.

The best part of hitting 5 million is that it's also the amount Iga was given by the publisher. Basically we'll be funding the game regardless of a publisher lol

/sigh

Fair enough.

We can agree that no one knows the details of the contract so no one can be sure and any talk about Iga's publisher is mere speculation.

I'll drop it now.

Please explain the pledge upgrade later on. You don't have to pay the already pledged amount again to get the next tier, right? I plan on going for 100$ but just can't right now.

It's been steadily doing about 20.5-21k per hour all night (NA time). At current pace it will juuuuuust hit $5mil all on its own, without even accounting for Paypal.

You think it'll reach the Roguelike milestone?

I'd say the chances of it not making it at this point are extremely low.

It's at 4.7 Million now and the last reliable PayPal number I heard was 150k. Take into consideration it's the last day and that usually causes a huge spike and it's pretty much unthinkable it won't make it.

Prequel minigame for portables confirmed... I guess the game will reach surpass that 5m milestone. It's bloody amazing, isn't it? :D

7 days left! Whipped this up to get folks excited:

Look at that lovely smile guys.
I'm awful with female anatomy, it's a bit janky but you get the idea.

Hey! I have a suggestion - go listen to the Playism podcast and jump to about minute 40......

I wonder what's buried below 5.000.000 goal...

The guy got 250k $ just to put together a stage were the bosses come order.
And then another 250k $ to put a timer and a fail condition to the main game.
Plus another 150k $ to add cheat codes.

Many of these stuff questionably deserve the extra money he asked for them.
Given the money we gave him, we deserve something free.
No more stretch goals!
Please!
If he has something extra he could add, he should just add it by him self!

I must be going mad because I'm actually considering pledging for the 500$ tier to get that map of the castle interior. BTW I don't have money to burn. I have bills to pay. Iga what have you done to me??

Anyway, I sent them a message wanting to know how big their "HUGE" castle interior map was going to be and asking if they could give me more details about it and they replied "likely to be around 24x36 inches." Not the most convincing sales pitch.

So I decided against it. 200$ for a freakin' map is too much. I'm still very satisfied about everything that's included in the 300$ tier.

As has been stated approx. 16,000 times in this thread, this is not how stretch goals work.

I don't know if your joking or serious.

How much money do you believe a game like with all of the stretch goals included costs to develop, on a current generation console, especially in Japan? I take a good guess and say it's much higher then you are inclined to believe.

I'm not sure if you are aware but the Stretch goals aren't piece meal in terms of budget. ALL of the money goes into making the game better. Bits and Pieces aren't individually priced or compartmentalized. Development just doesn't work like this.

The point of stretch goals is to provide incentive for backers or potential backers to give money to the project, so the team has a larger budget to work with and make the overall project better.

That's not how it works, educate yourself.

You don't understand stretch goals.

Before the campaign started I figured I'd go somewhere around $500 but the map doesn't do anything for me personally and everything I would have expected was in the $300 tier.

I think they should have added a $400 or $600 tier but obviously they did a great job in general and I doubt that area of the rewards being weak (Imo) cost them much.
