So they're going to make a "mini game" for 3DS? That's cool.
I still find it annoying that they hid stretch goals, but whatevz.

The artbook will be hardcover?
I doubt they've decided her voice actress yet. Anyway, while I agree with you that we could certainly use some more "ferocious" artwork of her, I don't think its fair to take a picture of her say baking a cake as a sign of "weakness". I don't think a character needs a permanent scowl on their face to be a badass. I'm certainly curious to see how/where they take her character though and I hope its awesome places![]()
IGA spent 6 months unemployed trying to get publisher money to make this game. Eventually he had to take a dayjob at Artplay to feed his family. So while I'd loved it if there were more to show right now, you can get out of here with this "herp a derp IGA is lazy" narrative. Also, being one of the most influential designers of the 2D action/exploration genre who has delivered multiple beloved and heavily influential titles over the years isn't nothing. The man worked for and earned his reputation. Save your moral outrage for something/somewhere else.
It was a pretty counterintuitive strategy. But because this KS was so successful, you can expect to see it a lot more in the future.
Meanwhile, games like Little Devil Inside struggles to amass 300k even though they poured their own money and effort into making an awesome trailer showcasing every feature of the game, the art style and what makes the game unique... And that's just one of the numerous stories that comes to mind, not including all the high-potential, high talent projects that get canned due to limited fundings on Kickstarter.
Then again, as long as gamers keep being attracted to known names over new ideas, stuff like this will happen.
Luckily for you, those of us that buy into these promises will give you the opportunity to buy a Castlevania-esque game in the future.
Good for you. Do as you will, which is your right. In the meantime, we'll do as we will, which is our right.Granted, people love Castlevania, people want to stick it to Konami, and the live action IGA publicity video was pretty cleaver, so I get why it's hapenning... But just like with Mighty Number 9, it kinda pisses me off that a well known Japanease dev can basically show a couple pictures that take a couple of hours at best to photoshop and walk away with million of dollars on a project that's pretty much an idea on a napkin at this point.

Personally, I wish these so called "Legendary" developpers would actually take the time to develop some content before asking for money... And at the very least offer similar effort to what some of their lesser known competition does... Not just hiring a PR company to "stage" an elaborate Kickstarter campaign... Basically, more content, less filler and PR stuff. Then again, as long as gamers keep being attracted to known names over new ideas, stuff like this will happen.
So while yes, I'm somewhat excited about a new "Castlevania-esque" game by IGA like most of you, I didn't contribute, personally, because I don't buy into promises. Show me some effort, then you'll get my money, IGA.

You and I are in complete agreement.
Fuck yeah! But what will keep hype rolling for the final four hr stream? Maybe calm reflection and idea spinning and of course celebration will be a nice change of pace though. Maybe a last 5,25. Mil stretch to hire the rogue legacy guys to do the extra mode?

Wasn't heavily invested in this kickstarter and decided to now check the situation. 5 million?! How the heck did that 2.4mil I last saw balloon like this? The thirst is real.

Really need to figure out which platform I want to put my pledge towards, I figure I can get PC for cheap before it launches (Mighty No. 9 can already be found for cheaper than backer minimum). Feel like PS4 is the obvious choice, but I don't know if I'll actually own one by then, Wii U backed now feels like the choice alongside PC version later, but I feel like it'll run like ass there :/
Fortunately you don't have to choose your platform now. You only have to choose physical or digital.
They should announce a last minute stretch goal lol
They should announce a last minute stretch goal lol
Yeah.
We surpassed an early stretch goal and/or backer number to get it automatically upgraded to a hardcover
