Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

I still find hard to believe that the biggest KS yet is an IGAVANIA game, seeing how PC oriented KS is.

Why aren't more Japanese devs jumping into the KS bandwagon is beyond me.
I said it, a few posts back.

Bloodstained was a direct result of MN9. I'm sure someone else is going to jump on the bandwagon soon.

So everyone:

What tier are you getting, and what platform(s) are you getting the MAIN game for and then the 8-bit prequel for? Remember you get an 8-bit game for each copy of the main game you get.

Tier: $125

Main: WiiU physical, PC digital
8-bit: 3DS and PC

holy shit we might hit 5 million

One last thing before we show you the final update... Right now Project Eternity has the biggest last day increase of 625K... We can't have that now can we, Army of the Night? ...and after you see the last update... I'm sure you won't want that either!

WE DID IT REDDIT GAF!! How's it feel to be a part of history? This game truly feels like a love letter to gaming in general. Here's hoping that the game turns out to be the best it can be... and more.

Also, toss your votes into the version survey if you haven't already.

Looking at the $125 tier, will give the second copy to a friend. PC for both the main and prequel game, but I haven't decided whether I'm gonna do Steam or GOG yet.

The stream is going to be anticlimactic now haha. They will have already met the $5Million stretch goal on KS alone before their final push stream begins.

SO excited to see what comes out of this one. Hopefully Iga & Init Creates keep the backers updated about the game's progress.

They probably will announce another stretch goal, or something along the lines of all the extra money goes into X. Hell, with the ending stream I can see them getting to 5.5 million.

8 Bit: Vita and I'm not actually sure, 3DS maybe since I doubt the console versions will have much difference going on. Or Wii U if there's some kind of save carry over.

iight my bad dawg, i should've been more clearer, koji knew what i mean. they could just go fuck that and do some sloppy models instead

Just wanted to clarify so if you go in you don't end up disappointed.

Most lack the sort of recognition IGA and Inafune have. Also I don;t believe crowdfunding is something Japan has really had catch on to any real extent.

Still thinking about systems I want to get the 8-bit prequel on.

Exactly the same. I'm debating getting the prequel game for Wii U instead of 3DS, though.

Literally debating the same thing. I might just *buy* it on Wii U, though, but I think it'll likely get more playtime from me if it's on 3DS.

8 Hours to go, and the KS itself is almost at 5 million! Gratzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Here's what I went in for:

$125 Tier

Xbox One digital
PS4 physical

I don't even have a PS4 yet...but I'll probably have one by the time Bloodstained comes out... But if I don't, I'll immediately be able to play the game once it comes out on XB1 digital.

Prequel will probably be on Vita.

I have a feeling backer rewards will be hell to manage for them with all the new stuff, people wanting 2 physical copies, etc.

I wouldn't want to be the guy in charge of this.

Inafune maybe, but IGA was mostly revered by the rabid Metroidvania fans, is not as famous that one of the figureheads of 90's and early 00's Capcom.

Sorry guys, the site is blocked at work, and I haven't kept updated on this.

Whats the minimum I need to pledge to get a digital copy and an 8bit copy on PC?

Just the $28 tier. As much as I want some of those greater tiers, my disposable income is going to be limited for the foreseeable future.

What extra content are $60 backers getting over $28 backers?

I need to know this.
I'm VERY excited for this game, but no extra content in the world would be worth over double the price of the game.

I don't care about a physical release (which if anything that will be more of a hassle for me), and a PDF document probably would be opened once then never again.

This picture pretty much sums up the whole situation

As I said earlier, I feel that there is a disconnect between publishers simply not understanding that demand for these sorts of games indeed exist, yet they firmly believe it doesn't.

Was Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts a financial success for Microsoft when it was released in 2008 on the 360?

Can somebody explain (for the millionth time) how to apply $60 to your pledge for a second physical copy?

I'm sorry for not knowing, I'm sure it's relatively simple.

Choose the $60 physical tier. On the confirm pledge page, manually type in a pledge of $120. Put a note in the comments saying that the additional $60 are for a 2nd physical copy.

That's how it normally goes w/ Kickstarter. I'm sure at some point they'll send out surveys asking people which platform(s) they want, and they already have to be able to handle multiple selections for people on tiers that come with multiple copies of the game.

$28 for now, maybe go up to $60 at the very last min heh, but I don't know, I not sure if I really want to back that kind of amount or more on Kickstarter especially for that is quite a while away. That extra money could go to games I can play now or is coming out very soon.:P Whatever I don't really care too much for the swordwhip and extra boss anyway, but then again the metroidvania fan inside of me...XD
