Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

Can't believe average pledge is still over 84 bucks. That's insane to me, when the game is only 28 digital, 60 physical.

I was among the cynical who believed that core gamers really don't have pull.

Clearly, I was wrong. People care, and they're showing how much with their wallet.

It makes a good case for games exploring pricing higher and discounting rather than rey to fight unreliable sales by selling games for firesale prices.

Nooooooooo, why they changed that voice actor of Phoenix ?!!!!!!
He sounds good !

edit : Wait from voice actor he became translator ?! So cool~

I mean, they presented a good value to me with the 100 dollar version. But the kickstarter had the added bonus of making you feel like "if I give more money, the game will have more stuff" whereas a normal game purchase doesn't do that, ever. No game out there says "Hey, if we sell a ton of copies, we'll deliver more free dlc!"

Also, wow, we're about 100k away from all stretch goals. Super gratz.

"Konami had a dungeon, so Iga became the real life Belmont, slayed the Corporate Bloodsucker and started out on his own" Somebody's comment on twitch that cracked me up.

He was never a voice actor by trade. Phoenix Wright followed the Japanese version's tradition of just using the voices of people who work in the office.

Iga rings made made by the MASTER himself!!

If rings imbued with magic were actually possibly in our world... they'd be made by iga.

neogaf shout out

Edit: Damn shouldn't have freaked out :P

Neogaf was mentionned, THEY ARE WATCHING US !! XD

Well of course.
@the bolded: They should! We have examples of that working well in the past!

I backed this for 60 and am truly happy to see that we're going to be getting orchestrated music. I'm so freaking pumped for this game, the wait is going to be torture.

Look how MN9 turned out? You mean the game that isn't even out yet? Tell us more about the future.
The debacle surrounding it and whatnot.

I like something solid and definitive: this is what our game will be, how it will look and play. Shovel knight had that: it was fucking playable to the public for christ's sake. MN9 didn't, and look at the discrepancy.

On a more personal note the reward tiers are too high for me. I'm not interested in paying 60 right now, and 28 will get me nothing more than the game (and the retro prequel, but who knows how long that will be).

Shovel Knight felt... special to me, for a lack of a better term: the design hangouts were genius at keeping the game intimate with the bakers. This, being a much larger project, loses that feeling. Maybe it makes me hypocritical, but I want to see something concrete, especially since I could see errors coming up and delaying the wii u version: armature aren't gods.

EDIT: What I am saying is this feels less like they need my money and more like a nonrefundable pre-order with a shit ton of locked content: I'm fine with exclusive physical items or representation in game (credits message, portrait, etc), but I don't like stuff being locked off to a $60 pay gate.
