• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

Fuck, you have just been stranded on a isolated island with only one game... which?

Probably a nearly endless game like Animal crossing. Maybe the Gamecube one for the hidden games even if I love the Wii version.

Hm, tough choice. I'd have to say either Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 or Morrowind. I've put a ludicrous amount of time into both of those games, so either one would keep me occupied for quite some time.

Nuff said.

I haven't played pokemon games in a long while, so I might get the newest DS one, platinum or w.e. I reckon I would log a good deal of hours on that.

Probably Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, there seems to be no end to that game.
I can spend the rest of my life collecting armor and hunting monsters, why not. :lol

Star Fox 64!
For a few months it was all I played on the Wii VC, despite having an XBOX360 and a Wii, and also a DS and PS2.
I would need an infinite supply of controllers though, I lost count of how many times I threw the controller on the floor in frustration with my scores XB

World of Warcraft. That way I can at least get word out to where I am and hope that someone gets me off the damn island where I only have World of Warcraft to play.

o.o oh shit. um.... *thinks* goddamnit now I can't think of it! xD

its a draw between the following: Eternal Sonata (PS3), Eternal Poison (PS2), or Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis (PS2). either one of those I would want with me

Civ IV, assuming I can have all the expansions.
That. In that kind of scheme, you need the highest replayability possible. Civ IV has both high replayability and very long game durations. It's pretty much the perfect game for that stuff.

Supreme Commander might also be considered, though it's less flexible as far as single-player goes. The Europa Universalis games would probably fit just as well as Civ IV. Wargames/world games generally are your best bet here. I guess the Anno series would also work (esp. 1404 since it has a sandbox mode)

That, or very, very good puzzle games (e.g. Tetris) but there are very few with essentially infinite replayability.

There's no net on the island. Enjoy your login screen :D

Persona 4 because I haven't played it at all or spoiled it at all (I beat Persona 3, so I know it will be similar). If I had played a Nocturne-like game, Nocturne might be my choice. Luckily I own both, I'm just waiting for a good time to lose my life. :lol

Aside from games I haven't played, Deus Ex would be my choice. I love Mario Galaxy and such, but I've played them too much already.

I'm between Tetris, Civilization 4 and Spider Solitaire... those are the only games I have that I can play endlessly and not get bored.

Probably Civilization 4 is the best answer, infinite replay value FTW =P.

I'd probably get bored of any one game eventually. I guess I'd 100% Oblivion a couple of times and find another way to entertain myself.

A lot of people say "Oblivion" but that's too close to what you'd really be doing on your deserted island in real life. A lot of other games mentioned are too gloomy, violent and depressing. I love that stuff, but not as the only thing I have that will every tie me to a civilized world.

I'd probably rather have something that reminds me of home and as different from the island as possible. I don't know what, but something big, expansive, bright, happy, and full of characters I can converse with when I start to go insane.

I'd have to say Morrowind (w/ expansions). I spent more time on that game than any other in my life and I've still not completed everything.

That depends, does the island in question have any goblins? Can I can hit them with a sword? Then maybe I would want something else.

Diablo 2 as I can play that forever
or
Daggerfall as I just started it and from what I read I could play that forever too.

Well, I'd like to say P4, but I think I'd get sick of the linear style. So I would probably just go with either BlazBlue, or maybe Disgaea... Right now I feel like I can play Chrono Cross and Super Metroid again and again and again, but I can see at least Super Metroid not holding up day after day, one after another.

Easily Civ IV. Honourable mention to Diablo 2 as well. Even when I get bored of CIV gameplay I usually just end up entering the world builder to create crazy scenarios when I start with all techs and all AI's at perma war with me.

The way I see it is this:
- You are on an island ALONE. No friends, no companionship, no NOTHING.
- You are surviving without doing anything and will continue to live until end of days.

THE ONLY GAME YOU NEED IS THE SIMS 3....and all it's future expansions.
-You want a friend, you got many.
-You want a family, make them.
-Human interaction. Done.
-All without leaving the computer.

Problem: If you ever do get off the island, the only language you'll know is Simish.

Perfectly said! I could even make do with Sims 2 and all its expansions, because I particularly like the Pets portion of it, even though I can't stand real life pets.

I think it's also a nice treat that while I could only play Sims, my Sims could play Spore or something else. If only my Sims could play WoW too. Then there'd be no need to choose.
