In this game though he looks like he could be better tier wise than Marth. Marth needs buffs in Smash 4 pretty badly, even though I still main him because I'm not some fair weather fan.

IIRC the mewtwo download was really small so it seems like they add the characters through patches which let data miners go to town.

Most of his attacks have him holding the sword backwards, having very different range and stuff. First thing I noticed was the ftilt. Didn't see much causes he kept taunting and the stream kept freezing

New jab, new dash attack, Flare Blade is a different animation from Marth's Shield Breaker (and Melee Shield Breaker), Melee Marth down throw, among others.
He's more like Wolf to Fox now.

Man, Ryu looks so cool. His Final Smash is kinda meh but other than that, hype.
Im confused tho, the Final Smash Trophy depicted shin shoryuken, but in the stream it was Shinku Hadouken.

No. No no no no no. Wolf has 0 shared A moves with Fox, and the specials are only conceptually the same, but as different as these concepts can be.
Roy still shares various animations and moves with Marth, so he is closer to Dr. Mario to Mario or, maybe, Falco to Fox (though those 2 also still are plenty more different than Roy seems to be).
