Pretty good conference, though other than the BC stuff and also some of the indie stuff I really can't think of anything that interests me. That's fine though, my tastes are so niche at this point.

hasnt it been reported that Call of Duty is going with Sony this year for marketing?

its always weird when these guys dont know stuff that everyone on Gaf or something knows

Reminds me of when Vinny asked if you could buy any PS2 games from PSN and Jeff responded with "No".

I don't know how to look at Mass Effect 1 being backward compatable. Bad because it may mean they aren't rereleasing it or good because it's only the first one...

Any predictions on price for new controller?

I'd pay $99 but I'd be surprised if it went quite that high.

I'm a huge controller nerd.

That was a decent C+ conference. Too many shooter demos for my taste. Love me some Cuphead and intrigued by Sea of Thieves. Also, that Rare collection will be a day one for me. Can't wait to play Jet Force Gemini again.

Bummed out by no Scalebound. I guess they gotta save something for Gamescom though.

I can't wait for the first leak of a game which is backwards compatible ready, but a publisher blocks it. There will be outrage.

Maaaaan, 18 months is too long for that Gears 4 build up, that seemed like a really token gameplay demo, (but I had the sound muted.) Fallout 4 has already spoiled me on release dates, but then I was hype as fuck for MGSV from the first concept art so maybe I should shut up.

Cool for Xbox One owners about the backward compatibility, but I can't help but interpret it as "Well, we don't have a lot of games so we're throwing you a bone."

Well that's a super underwhelming conference right? Like I just wasn't into much going on there.

It's still surprising they haven't gotten any new huge franchises to add to their marquee.

Maybe my expectations were low but i thought it was alright. Good console features and a bunch of new games.

If i was into the action franchises they had i'd be pretty hyped. But they are never going to have a lot of games that appeal to me at an E3 conference

Pretty fine. Nothing really spectacular though. Backwards compatibility being the 'oh shit' moment kinda says a lot.

Maybe its just me but after reading Patrick's article about game demos I'm left kinda cold by the standard 'guy stands on stage with a controller while whats clearly a video plays'.

BC was da bomb (though my interest is very limited and I don't even own an X1)
Controller could be interesting
DS3 would have been neat if it hadn't leaked

In general there were too many CG trailers or just lack luster gameplay demos.

That BC tho

That was surprisingly pleasant for a conference where the games were mostly okay outside of the indie stuff.

It wasn't a system selling conference, that's for sure. When your biggest games are "Hey we're doing Halo and Gears again" they kind of lose their impact. It's to be expected now.

But it wasn't a disaster. I'm kind of looking at this and saying "yup, MS sure does have some video games."

I'm waiting for that roguelike they announced last year or the year before, Below or something?

Did Austin not say Blast Corps when reading the Rare Replay list? If that game isn't on there, no sale!

Edit : nevermind. Found the list and Blast Corps is on there. False alarm :)

That was a good conference imo. New IPs looked interesting, new controller looks cool, BC is fucking great, I'm getting Halo. I wish Crackdown, Scalebound and QB were in it but I don't think they could have fit them in.

As someone who is seemingly easy to please and doesn't own an Xbox One, I thought MS had a really solid press conference.

So the backwards compatibility is their biggest shot at Sony.

Alright, lets see how they responds tonight.

Sony pretty much has backwards compatibility with Playstation Now, though. Granted, it's done via their servers instead of emulated like I'm assuming this will be.

I'm assuming we'll see CoD, MGS, and maybe some other 3rd party games at Sony's thing tonight. Whatever Bethesda game wasn't shown at MS's conference will probably be there.

The stuff they showed, Cuphead aside and the Rare Replay, was incredibly dull, but the way they carried the show I thought was really good. They spent just the right amount of time on everything and had good energy throughout.

But yeah the content itself was really underwhelming. The only major black spots on the conference I would say was the EA stuff. Really, really not interested in another Gears game. I would have much rather seen the games they mentioned at the end(Quantum, Crackdown, or Scalebound), but I know Gears puts butts in seats. Tomb Raider demo was turrrrible though

Thought the conference was fine. I feel more tempted to buy an Xbox than I was last year. A decent bundle at around the £250 mark could be enough to persuade me.

The conference was alright. Love Dark Souls 3, backwards comp, the rare collection and Sea of Rare Pirates. The pacing was decent (except for the EA access stuff).

As a PC gamer, all I saw was more Gears and Halo, both of which I've resigned to not play at this point. Decent new stuff for Xbox owners, but not much to convince me to give a shoot.
