IIRC Type 0 sold the most on PS4 and FFXI on X360 didn't reach the numbers of the PS/PC version at the time (but those were already an established fan base) so who knows on FFXI..

They made the .hack RPGs, Naruto fighting games, the FF7 bike game, and Asura's Wrath. So they make great RPGs and have some of the best action cutscene direction in the industry. They have the potential to do FF7 justice.

Don't forget their fantastic Cell-shading (which they won't use for FFVII, but still...).

The FFXIII trilogy did less on Xbox than Playstation witha higher install base and the Type 0 split was horrendous. Something like 80% of copies sold world wide were on PlayStation

There isn't really a market for these games on Xbox One

Here is my guess:

They'll introduce new state of the art character modells for the main protagonists and some big bosses, common models for everybody else but the background and everything else will only be rehashed assets from FF VII (PC).

I am afraid that most people will still pe pissed because FF VII is not going to look like what they expected, especialy after seeing FF XV or even the FF X PS4 remaster...

SE doesn't have the manpower. They had to bring in Hexadrive for FF15 and Nomura's team is doing KH3. The rest probably work on Dissidia and mobile games.
