I need to watch the archive of the GB/Sony stream. I couldn't get it to load on my iOS devices and had to watch the basic stream on Twitch.

Also, I'm bummed that we don't have a Day 0 after show this year.

Their biggest complaint was that the old shit looks old and not enough vr

Those sound like reasonable statements to make.

I'm especially concerned with vr. They crammed 3d down our throats one year, Move the other year, yet vr got almost as much time as the vita did. Kinda concerned about it if they're still planning on a 2015 release, less so if it's 2016

There are Morpheus sets all over Sony's booth... The majority even on these forums didn't want a lot of Morpheus stuff in the conference cause it's tough to translate to the audience...

when Battlefront, CoD and Fallout are launching within weeks of each other this fall.

the best part of this is that Fallout (which will undeniably still be broken at launch) will distract me from wanting to buy either of the other two games as soon as they're released.

I don't think I can take another bad DICE launch, doubly so when it's Star Wars

They said nothing wrong. You people are far too sensitive to any criticism. Sony ain't got shit for the rest of the year. Next year looks fantastic (for whatever games don't get pushed back to 2017).
That's just how it is.

The announcements were amazing, but this is just the truth.

i don't expect them to jump out of their seats, but again, they just sound boring. austin is the only one who doesn't sound like he wants to be anywhere but there

Perhaps they're quiet because they agree with the sentiments of others?

Their personal sentiments? They probably do, but when Dan has to struggle to explain that an FF7 remake is a good idea over Brad decrying that it's a waste of money and that no one wants it it's pretty obvious that Brad has trouble separating his personal feelings from his analysis of the market.

It's a a grown man acting like the most excitable child over a kickstarter announcement, and we're the one's being ridiculous.

Yeah, you're right. Adults should never be excited about anything, and if they are, they should suppress it as hard as they can no matter what. Not even if it's something they have been waiting for for 1.5 decades, or have an active steak bet riding on it.

Brad being completely out of touch is nothing new really.

It's the hair man.

It's taking over him.

I wish Giant Bomb had someone on staff that liked Shemue. It wasn't a bad game and the story was decent.

Plus it ended on like the biggest cliffhanger ever.

God damn it, I'm fucking bawling from the Dusty Rhodes tribute on WWE Network. Looking forward to some Nintendo jubilation tomorrow morning.

You people shitting on the hosts of comedic talk shows on GameTrailers because they were acting in character are being absolutely childish and embarrassing.
I think the bigger problem is that the state of video game journalism is so shitty that you can't tell who is supposed to be comedic and who is supposed to be serious, and people actively come into places where people discuss websites who try and be serious and complain that they don't act like the people who are supposed to be comedic.

Arguing with Brad sounds like a bad time. Jeff will often give it his best shot though.

what are they even doing if they don't re-release the previous two? neither one of them are readily available or easy to play unless you have 15 year old hardware. it seems crazy to me that they didn't announce some kind of collection

Sorry didn't realize there was steak riding on this.

Everyone talking about cynicism and shit when Jeff was looking so excited about Mario Maker yesterday.

Oddly enough even though their systems seem to get the least amount of coverage on the site their reactions to the Nintendo E3 stuff seems to be the most fun the last couple of years. Mario Maker looks cool....all I need is a new Metroid and I will get a Wii U.

Your point being? If people are supposed to offer a critique of the happenings in the industry they shouldn't have a blind spot because consumers don't want to take the best option. Console manufacturers should be providing exclusive content for their machines if they're beat in regards to both price and power by PC. If not then sites like Giant Bomb should focus on informing consumers that the PC is currently a better platform, which seems to be what they're doing.

Shit, I swear GAF has turned into bizzaro-land now it's Sony focusing on 3rd party rather than MS.

They aren't beat by price though or time, the caveat you are forgetting is in order to get that price you have to research, build, hope to dear lord nothing is wrong with the parts you bought, then hope that the games you are buying work well with what you have, then if they do, hope some driver doesn't fuck everything up, etc. I have a PC and still do not exactly evangelize the platform because of its problems. It is not what the majority will put up with, and these guys are not bringing those points to light. Neither are you btw. Also it is easy to find console games on sale, sales are not specific to steam or the PC.

A console you plug in, buy subscription, patch, play. its that easy and nothing else needs to be done.

For the all the glitter that came with it, it's still a kickstarter deep down :P

Stretch goal maybe?

Sega seems like the type of company that will jump at the change to re-release the games on steam or something after the kickstarter is funded.

You have varying degrees of excitement, and that dude was reaching apex Tom Cruise levels, over a Kickstarter campaign. But hey, If you enjoy that kind of reaction, more power to you.

No offense to GB, but I haven't been able to enjoy anything they release since Ryan passed away.

I tried to watch their Sony conference special but it was painfully boring. It's really disappointing too since I love GB more than anything Internet site.

Perhaps being part of a community is disagreeing when others say things but still generally enjoying having similar interests and topics of discussion!

The PC vs. Console debate is silly. The amount of effort is still a barrier. If there are more than two or three questions a consumer must ask before buying a product, that's too big of a barrier.

-I want to play this game!
"Okay do you own a Xbox One or PS4?"
-No
"Okay, well here's a list of games for each platform, if you've enjoyed more on one list, you should get that one."
-Okay thanks.

Meanwhile in PC land, I've built my own desktop PCs for the past 20 years, and I honestly couldn't tell you if I should upgrade my processor or graphics card first.

All that being said. That's not who Giant Bomb is speaking to. Giant Bomb is speaking to informed video game consumers. From an informed consumer perspective PC is the correct reccomendation. It's cheaper, better supported, and generally speaking more capable in every way.

The challenge with "judging" E3 is that it speaks to the general public and the enthusiast media. It's not for either side exclusively. So you hear about the exciting new physical shaders or whatever stupid technology crap they are talking about this year, you hear about boring games that look like an art exhibit come to life with absolutely no excitement. And then you see incredibly cinematic trailers from the FOURTH Batman game because only sequels sell. And awesome power fantasies from Call of Duty FIFTEEN because this industry is artistically bankrupt!

Heh, going by the reactions, I can tell I'm gonna have a "fun" time watching them talk over the Sony conference.

I will say that I do not think there is any situation where I could not laugh at someone claiming it's not a big deal that the announcements of a Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Shenmue 3 and the re-unveiling of The Last Guardian were all bundled together. This doesn't include stuff like Horizon and Hitman.

The Street Fighter V video on the site is pretty cool, much cooler than console wars and gametrailers shenmue reaction-gate.
Yup. I want to thank Jason especially, dude has done a stellar job detailingthe systems in the last beastcast and now this video. This clip especially sold me on the game not being just sfiv+

Oh man, you're going to love Alex's interpretation of those events!
