nintendo might be able to repay the favor in a year or two by having the ff7 remake at their conference. I mean while it's assumed that it's a ps4 console exclusive it's not beyond the realm of possibility that it could also come to nintendo next home console :P

So was the FF7 thing at PSX just a joke? A long con?

There was no way Sony would have been that tone deaf to have the Square Enix exec flew over and crush people's dreams like that. Hell, wasn't the FF7 PC port supposed to be out by spring already? I'm assuming it's coming, but was more or less used for massive miss-direction for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project.
 
OMG! Waking up to all this awesome news, OMG I can't believe it! Just yesterday I was teasing my friend that there will never be any remake of FF7 and he just need to give up believing already. I was so wrong, so so wrong.

Based E3 2015, best E3 ever!
 
It was such a great teaser trailer
Started off with completely unfamiliar imageries
Then worked in a key word and item
Followed by the classic music
And ended with just a glimpse of the characters

It was so perfect I could cry

While I'm at it, I want MORE materia! Alot more! Collecting, mastering, materia was the absolute best. I could never get into FFIX's skill system because of it. Materia makes so much more sense as a way of obtaining new power. The crystalized souls of those that came before you granting you a portion of their knowledge. Beautiful.
 
This needs a good dose of color before release.

And yeah I hope it isn't too serious. The game really had a unique, adventurous, comical tone. It could be serious when it wanted to, but most of the time it wasn't all that serious.

If there's voice acting I hope Barret drops f-bombs and they bleep it out.

I legitimately got emotional at that teaser trailer. What a day.....

I'm in the process of installing my Steam copy of FFVII right now, it's time for a playthrough.
 
I do hope the humor and Barret's potty mouth remain intact.

Yeah. I'm expecting a lot of salt about certain things gameplay wise.
 
So yeah. Just watched the trailer again for the 50th time or so. I LOVE the voice over and how it can apply to both the game itself in the world of FFVII and to us, the fans, who have wanted this reunion for so long.

"The reunion at hand may bring joy, it may bring fear, but let us embrace whatever it brings."

Those who are hyped, those who are cautious, it doesn't matter. Let's just embrace this and take it as it is.

I didn't notice that, although no mans sky is not a good example as that is all but confirmed coming to Xbox at some point. Every time they talk about NMS they say console debut. Its like their buzzword for the game.

I left neogaf 3 days ago to avoid that kind of stuff. Since I was going to the theater showing. It was a good decision all 3 bombs surprised me as I was expecting this to be another troll. Especially after the FF Worlds thing.
 
Almost 1 am, and I never stay up late. I'm going to be tossing and turning all night. Thanks a lot square!

I guess I know what I'll be dreaming if I do sleep. :P
 
I'm impressed by how modern topside Midgar looks... Which is a great thing because the effect in 97 was like "this is a piece of a modern day city" which was a surprising thing in a jRPG at the time... But if they kept it looking as it did that effect would be a little lost.

As excited I am for this remake, yeah Square Enix ain't exactly SquareSoft of old, and I'm seriously hoping it doesn't lose the charm and fun of the original game that made it all work; watching FFVII Advent Children, it was much more moody and serious lacking the game's funny charm.

I'm watching trailers and reaction videos of the announcement and reading forum posts.
 
My biggest hope for FF VII RM is character models that are based on the original concept art. Never liked the Advent Children redesigns. Skewed arms and legs. Flattop hair on Barret and his original vest. Original trousers and shirt for Cloud. Company clothing from the concept art for all employee main characters of Shin-Ra company. Etc.
 
I only slept like 3 hours to watch the conference and it was worth it. Please let us have a demo like Episode Duscae.

Episode No.1 Reactor in 2016...

I wonder if the remake will still use turn based combat.
