NateTheHate: Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Will Simultaneously Launch on All Platforms

Real talk for final fantasy vets, is there even one good final fantasy game? I've tried x, x-2 on the vita and 7 remake, Rebirth and 16 on the ps5. I've never been able to finish any of them because the story is not that interesting and the gameplay loop couldn't carry for me.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like this franchise needs to rest for a long time.

FF is a weird franchise by design, if anything I believe we need to go back to the PS1 era were we got new mainline games every year, I think getting FF17, 18 and 19 with the same release pacing of the FF7R series would be ideal for todays age. Why? Because FF values experimentation a lot, you have FF 1 to 3 with a certain vibe, FF 4 to 6 with another philosophy, then 7 to 9 being an era, 10, 12, 13 and 15 being their own beast, a few MMOs too. So there is plenty of room to someone find their personal favorite among so many gameplay systems and writers. Now with modern development taking ages if you dont enjoy a certain FF game youre screwed, bc the next one might be a decade away... So if they get more games coming faster it would be for the better.

Somehow I enjoyed all FF games that ive played (1, 4, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 15, 7R and 14)

IMHO, a Final Fantasy game 'needs' to have 4 things:

- Interesting world
- Interesting story (except pacing, that part was already shitty)
- Interesting cast
- Good battle system

That being said, Original FF 7 was the only that achieved everything + new tech (for its time, of course).

I like FF 12 too, but keep in mind you can replace everyone from the cast with tofu pieces, and the story would be the same.

They weren't optimized when only releasing on one platform.

Both Rebirth and FF16 were clearly designed around the Quality Mode and the 60 fps mode was tacked on at the end.

"Optimization" in this case is basically whether they end up downgrading the Fidelity to both get it to run on Switch 2 and to keep the native resolution a bit higher on PS5/Series X.

Ive been playing a lot of rebirth (on pc) and despite my gapes with the game.. all the non story quests and elements are a lot of fun.

Just beat the "bloodqueen" in the card game... that game needs a stand alone release. thats just money left on the table.

buy also should we be seeing something about FF17 pretty soon?

I believe they'll play the final part close to the original game in terms of story. They've wrote the remake in a way where this is entirely possible. Basically a "gotcha moment". I have faith.

The final stretch should also have far less padding. There's not much left to tell.

Come across this video today. Pretty much had the same experience as this guy. For their faults, by God did they fucking nail the music with the new games. Absolute perfection.
