Horizon: Zero Dawn Trailer (Guerrilla, post-apocalyptic pre-historic adventure)

Sure it's a video game, but average male 2-3× is always faster, more powerful, athletic then the average female, so if a game character was gonna be capable of all these incredible things it would make sense if the character was a male.

Yeah, they gotta make her a man because having a female this athletic and capable would ruin the realism of this post-apocalyptic game about killing robot dinosaurs with bows and swords etc.

smh

This game grabbed my imagination. Very inventive stuff.

I don't get why they'd hunt robo-dinosaurs, though. They sure aren't the best diet... did I miss something there?

Seemed like she was collecting the green tube components the "herbivores" had. Maybe they process the land into something like a super vitamin shake?

If I recall she was waiting for some container on the robot to be filled before she started shooting at them, so from that I am assuming the robots can process/extract something the humans can't otherwise get a hold of.

That seemed to be her goal, not actually dropping the smaller robots. She even expressed regret at having to destroy the one that spotted her initially.

I am loving how much lighting has advanced this gen, some of these games man...amazing. Really interested in this game as a whole, gonna check out the youtube interview now!

bro, are you being serious?

I can't wait to find out more info about this. I hope there's:

1. Co-op
2. DIfferent weapon builds
3. Mounting
4. Character creator

The aesthetic is so good though, and wow at the graphics.

1000 years after the collapse of civilization. As Hermen put it: Post post-apocalyptic.

The machines are the dominant 'species' on the planet now, not humans. She was getting stuff from the back of the smaller robo-dinos, so she is definitely hunting for materials. He said that you will understand what's really going on with the machines, but not early in the game.

Also, that girl reminds me Ygritte from Game of Thrones.

Yep.

Was really impressed by the footage. This was probably the game I was most curious about since the leaked screen shots. I had a difficult time getting my head around what the hell they were doing with the concept back then, but I'm impressed after seeing it come to life. And we haven't even seen any RPG elements yet, sheesh. Day 1.

Visuals are great, as expected from GG.

Automatically regenerating health and "shoot the shiny weakspot for massive damage" is disappointing though, I would have hoped for this to be more akin to Souls / Monster Hunter in terms of actual mechanics.

Smh it's just my preference, many people here prefer female for what ever reason. Will still buy the game if it gets good reviews.

People say some weird shit during E3.

I'm pretty sure you have to be drunk and watching a porno on a different screen while also watching this trailer to consider this character sexualized.

I just don't even know. What a terrible observation.

GG I think will do females bettter too. Their males are AWFUL.

My favorite demo of this E3 so far. Awesome, unique setting and the gameplay looked fun as well.

I still think it's pretty surprising that a major AAA game can be released with such a crazy concept and a female protagonist. Awesome all around.

The character design is great. Practical clothing and not magically salon styled hair. It's thick and matted like it would be.

Agreed.

While the ICO/SotC fan in me was so pleased with the announcement, and UC4 looked more stellar than I imagined, this game right here has me most pumped.

The art is just phenomenal. Some of the best I have seen in a long time.

The big dino was already really smashed up so you probably won't always be able to take that type on so directly.

Wow! This game looks amazing. And as others have said, something about her character is so well done, that she feels human or real.

First Shadow Fall's art, now this.

Their art department is god tier!

well for one, her face isn't modeled after a Brazilian Victoria secret model. she looks like an average looking girl that you would see at work or the gym.

This looks really good and fun. Way more excited for this than the dream trio. But it's Guerrilla, so I'm really worried. Never liked any of their past games. Plus this seemed too scripted.

Mechs and Dinos?

Count me in!

Their past games weren't Horizon.

Their past games were FPS corridor shooters. Completely different from what Horizon is trying to be. There's no similarity at all except for the superb art direction. You should consider this a fresh start from GG.

I dunno, but when I saw robotic dinos, I was a bit... disappointed? It's kind of like seeing a Jurassic Park massive adventure and the first thing you see is a Robotic dinosoar instead of the real thiing.

Anyway, minor nitpick - the game does look spectacular.

I generally dont go ape shit over large scale open world games, but between Horizon, Battlefront, and Fallout 4 Im an open world junky. Bring it on Guerilla. Really hope the gameplay and rpg elements are fleshed out. Games been in dev for almost 5 years now right, got to be. So hyped.

Wonder if we find out what keeps the robot dinos alive for so long or what builds them or keeps them in working order

Hermen Hulst said on-stream that the RPG aspects of the game will be detailed more in due time.

There will be aspects like loot/crafting system, etc, presumably as part and parcel of the RPG parts of the game.

I hope the game has difficulty modes that are hard enough that you can get one shot killed. Would suit the game and the kind of enemies we are facing.

Tell us more, please.

My only gripe is that the name sucks and is as generically non-descriptive as it gets.

It should be called, "Ygritte: Robot Dinosaur Hunter"

Why the fuck do we have a plumber with a mustache jumping around like a lunatic..?

Yeah.. Games sure are weird..

calm down there, buddy. i don't know what Mario has to do with this game, which is apparently talking about post apocalyptic earth, not a silly platformer.
