Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

I don't recall but did they say that they will be continuously adding games to the Preview Program up until public launch or is this group of games all we'll have until then?
 
Ok, anyone thats added me and I've added you back as a friend I have now added you to the preview program.

The message I get is:

Invite Pending
Thanks! Your friend(s) will receive more information from us soon.


It took me about 3 days to become a member of it and have access to the dashboard updates.

Hey, not sure if you're still adding people, but if you are, I wouldn't mind an invite if possible. Just added you on Xbox. My GT is MajorMane.

This is a really cool feature - my favorite announcement of E3 yet - and I hope it can grow into something really good. I can't wait to try it out.

Anyone else downloaded N+ and thought the movement felt weird? Not sure whether it's performance or just how the game plays and I have forgotten in the years since.

I preordered my xbox the day before they announced bc so it kinda comes off as a bonus for me as I once I get it and create an account, I think they said you can still buy the games from xbox.com and then download them to your xbox one
 
Does anyone know if you can use Xbox One party chat while playing a backwards compatible 360 game?
 
How do you know if your in the program or not? Asked a while ago but unsure if I am on

Anyone thats added me and I show up as a friend for you as well has been added.

I'll keep checking every so often to make sure anyone that adds me gets an invite.

I cant guarantee you'll all get in as I have no idea how it works, but I'll invite as many as I can!

You should even be able to take snapshots and "record that"
I can't wait for SoulcaliburV to be supported so I can upload a specific replay, too bad youtube wasn't supported on 360.
 
The fact this works with digital games is amazing. Hopefully Nintendo follows the leader and add digital backwards compatibility to the next console and maybe handheld systems. Well, otherwise I am most likely not buying their next home console.

Anyways, the 360 bc really made me interested in buying a Xbox One down the road, since I never had a 360.
 
Skate 3 is the only thing I really want that is not on that list. My son and I still spend lots of time in that game and it does not look like a sequel is coming any time soon.

Yup, this is one of the things I really wanted from the new gen, my digital purchases to carry over - I spent so much money on XBLA games and I'm over the moon that I'll be able to start accessing them from Xbox One!

Must be the emulator padding.

Wait so this means every title we download will have the emulator packed in, seems like a big waste of space and time.

Also watching the major nelson video again about BC they clearly say the xbox one reads your disc and then 'downloads' the game, so you use the disc just to tell it what to pull from the web.

I bet it's downloading the entire Xbox 360 OS and some custom bits with each title to run them. Like a "wrapper".

You can through Cloud Saving, but you'll need Xbox Live Gold to do that. Already works great for me.

Well, wait for final release to see if they get the file size down. Remember, they did improve the 360 disc install over time by having installs take less space by not re-installing security data and other things.

I was just certain MS would find a way to carry over my XBLA purchases over the years. They were so good at creating a platform not just a console. I was pretty shocked when that wasn't the case. Glad to see that's changes. Really nice win for consumers.
