The graphics are pretty bad and the gameplay can be spotty (although overall I thought it was quite good), but it has great music, a great story, great art direction. It would never have reviewed well, and I don't even know if its "underrated." I would say its highs and lows are more extreme than most games. Definitely worth trying though, especially if they release some kind of remaster or at least a PC port.
