Is this an RPG or action game?

its action RPG (u got even levels, weapons, shops, loot etc)

it got mixed reviuews because their engine was bad - it looked outdated
but music, story, characters and again -story - is mature, awesome, sad.

its one of few games when U can start just to check it and then u realized its 50 hours already

and combat is actually pretty decent

reviewers were bithcing about bad graphics (u kn ow Uncharteds and stuff) and yes graphics is medicore - but the game is pure awesomeness, playing on your feelings.

U do not save world. You find cure for your dying daugther, u live with her, bring her flowers and kill weird monsters trying save her.

after mixed reviews I skipped Nier "for later" and man - that was mistake I almost missed it entirely!
It was wan of best last gen games for me (not graphicaly - but overally). It slow paced on the start but u got the sad feelings and keep playing trying to save your daughter.

ANd now they have proper studio behind with great engine and great experience - it WILL be AWESOME. All Nier was lacking was technology. Now its delivered.
