I enjoyed the first Nier quite a lot, except from a few design elements, and I think a sequel to it could probably improve on a lot of those areas, although some we are probably stuck with. Cool news, anyway!

Without spoiling it too much, it's one of the most depressing tales in video games ever made. The story continuously opens up for those who search for it, in a way. THe gameplay was hit or miss depending on who you ask, so that getting corrected plus PS1/PS2 level labor of love RPG feeling is a godsend.

I just can't believe it. Nier for me was one of those "experience" games, like ICO and SotC is for many. Amazing characters, amazing soundtrack, amazing but fucked up story, it just all came together into one of the best games I've played.
