Now I'm calmer and not ejaculating everywhere.
It's a PS4 exclusive. Now I'm buying a PS4. I am sold.
This might be the first Drakengard game with actually good gameplay with Platinum at the helm. D3 had good gameplay, but it was super janky.
Platinum is now developing an exclusive for each big home console.
I'm so happy Square is touching Drakengard again and letting Yoko Taro eat.
This almost feels like a vanity project. The team on paper is a massive dream team and it is all being used on Drakengard of all things.
Judging by the destroyed city setting, I assume this is still the Drakengard 1 ending E thing and I presume it'll follow after a Nier ending. Now the important question is, which one?

FF VII remake and NieR 2? I fucking can't handle it. My favorite games of all times both get something new within 2 days. I'm speechless.
Not sure how I feel about Platinum games handling NieR tho. The reason the game was such a gem were the story, characters and music. Platinum games are more gameplay guys.

After hearing that Yoko Taro was working on some mobile game sometime ago I thought he's going to end up like Ito, making iOS trash for the rest of his career.

Well that's what Taro is there for! (and Okabe for the Music) Platinum will basically only do the combat! It's perfect!

There is no reason the story will be compromised here. I don't think platinum will have any input on that.
But with platinum handling the gameplay side we have a potential GOAT tier game.

Platinum game get buried ? Even if platinum games usually don't sell much, they are very popular among the hardcore gamers
Which is exactly why they're perfect for the job!
They're keeping the writer/director and composer, but new gameplay guys.
Also Yoshida, fucking YOSHIDA man.
This shit is gonna be so awesome.
Though I gotta say, I hope it doesn't become a character action game. I liked the overall game design in Nier, the puzzles, mechanics and such, it was just somewhat poorly executed. The mansion level was amazing.

Honestly, the only way you'd get me to play FF7remake or another Nier would be to have someone like Platinum completely redo the core structure of each
So, uh, one of these wins out over the other pretty easily
They needed to spent 10 mins of COD...
Nier is going to be a good game to show Platinum is capable to do more than action games. I trust in them IMO, they're just so talented.
I'm sure it will still be RPGish.

Low budget super-Japanese thing? Makes sense for it to be PlayStation exclusive. Japanese games, generally speaking, do not sell well on Xboxes. With that said, I would be surprised if this doesn't get a PC port eventually.

I have no doubts Platinum is capable of more, I'd love to see a 2D platformer from them, actually.
Companies trying to one-up each other is the greatest thing ever. This year was absolutely nuts.
