Hot damn! I need me one of these.

I don't understand how a tournament could be held already. Have these guys already played the alpha/beta of this game to prepare and learn the mechanics? Is the game even balanced and ready yet for an actual competition?

they learn faster than normal humans, that's why they're pros. except gootecks.

BTW the CapcomFighters stream will delay. The CapcomUnity one, with the showcase, will probably start on time, a.k.a. in five minutes

Hellz to the yes.

Right at lunch time, too. :)

Can't wait for these archives.

None of that is necessary to throw a tournament. All you need are people that want to play.

Its an exhibition and I believe that most of the players have had a chance to play orevious builds at some point. More a test of raw fighting game skill than SFV. A nice way to see players innovate and discover on the fly and hype up the new game.

It´s just a cool way to demo the game, dude

They're just gonna hand them their sticks and say 'good luck'

None of that is required to have an actual tournament.

It's really more of a demonstration than a serious tournament. The tournament aspect of it makes it so that the players actually try to play to win.

It's street fighter. How much could've changed? And when you throw the best players of a game at something they love and know better than anything, I'm sure the mechanics will be easily grasped.

Gotcha. Makes total sense. I was thinking about it all the wrong way - like a serious tournament with serious stakes and prizes, etc. It really is an excellent way to demo a new game. It worked wonders with Mario Maker during the NWC on Sunday.
