I think it's all about budget. No way they can put on a production to rival MS/Sony, and the talk show thing sort of helps with that in my opinion. A big stage production would look awful in my opinion.

I like this. It's not so in-your-face and flashy. As a PC gamer I guess I just prefer something a little more mature and refined instead of you typical video gamer.

It's E3 week, hardcore has watched multiple hours of conferences and nothing is gained by rambling and having slow pacing issues. And the casual won't stick around for it either. I agree that we can be impatient but you need to make an effort to deliver your info in the best way. I say this for every conference, not just this one.
