E3 is a western event... why would they announce a game at E3 when they wont even be bringing it to the west?
So you know for a fact they wont be bringing it to the west?
Exclusive to NX
You know for a fact they will? Do i need to bring up their track record?
It would probably be best to assume it wont be coming and be pleasantly surprised if they do.
Exclusive to NX
Is there a reason why so many gamers are expecting DQ11 to hit PS4? with the way the console market is performing in Japan, there seems to be little reason to expect the mainline Dragon Quest series to hit anywhere outside of mobile devices and/or the 3DS.

Finally, Horii said that the next numbered entry in the seriesDragon Quest XIis currently also in development, but first, Square Enix wants you to play Dragon Quest Heroes to build up excitement.
When the topic of Dragon Quests future came up, Horii said development of Dragon Quest XI is advancing towards the series 30th anniversary, which is in 2016. He also said he wants to play it on a big screen, suggesting the game is in development for console (rather than smartphones). A specific platform was not revealed.
part of it is fanboyism

Is DQ11 (if its being made) likely to be announced at TGS this year? Or is one of the teams that would be making DQ11 now working on something else like project setsuna?
If DQXI were PS4 exclusive, it would mean they're abandoning Japan for a huge western push for the series.
Which is...not unprecedented in the industry, I suppose, but would still evoke some surprise.

Considering that they can't even be assed to bring over DQM, DQM2, Rocket Slime 3, DQ7, DQ8, or even DQM Super Light? (Or Bravely Frontier, Bravely Second, SaGa, etc...)
Yeah, no, they've given up on the West for anything not a AAA spectacle game.

Though your point remains solid, Super Light is coming soon:

I don't think the guts to do something that risky. If they were going to try something like that, we'd have seen more of an effort to build brand recognition over the past couple of years in the West, but they're not doing that.

I posted the thread about that. That's a company that does English releases in Asia. No idea if we'll be able to do anything with it in the US / EU.

I get your point, but Bravely Second was announced for NA a little while back.
That sounds horrible...Ni no Kuni as a series can now scratch that itch of a console DQ like

There is no need for DQ on consoles at this point, it is a good handheld series. Ni no Kuni as a series can now scratch that itch of a console DQ like
By Nintendo, to be fair.
Square-Enix seemingly let them handle this one, despite specifically citing BD as an example of misreading their audience by not bringing it over themselves.
Dragon Quest Heroes wasn't even shown at Square's event.
DQ still exist in a different realm of focus for Square Enix in the west compared to other stuff in their line-up. It's a monster IP in Japan, but globally, there's always been some struggle for it to get the respect it gets in Japan. It's something they need to figure out.
