No. But Yu Suzuki can keep accepting pledges outside of the KS campaign as Star Citizen is doing right now.
I asked that question thinking about the possibility of:
1 - SEGA decide to release remastered versions of Shenmue 1 and 2.
2. The physical version of ps4.
3- A version for Xbox One.
I don't get why it's a problem for Sony to support this game with more money.
So, has anyone been able to contact PewDiePie or Angry Joe to try and help raise awareness? It would help a lot. Flood their twitter! Get their attention!
What if Angry Joe gets pissed by "oh look Sony are funding Shenmue but they have the cheek to ask for money via a Kickstarter" instead?
Oh god I can see it now.

You mean why it's 'problematic' or why is a problem for Sony? I have nothing against Sony helping fund the game. From Sony's perspective they are a business not a charity so they are going to do as much as it makes sense from them to do. For them the good press they got made it worthwhile so far, but they really have no reason to throw millions into this which is fine.I don't get why it's a problem for Sony to support this game with more money.
I've read a lot of stuff that explains why Shenmue was so special back in the day. Reading that makes me skeptical of Shenmue 3 though. All I hear is how amazing the graphics were and how the world is filled to the brim with little details. They were very unique games at the time.
Given the limited budget, dev time, Suzuki's absent time, and the fact that there are more games like it now, it makes me wonder if a new Shenmue can be as special and unique. Is it more about finishing the story now? I'd love to read an insightful article or post that explains why playing the old games would be amazing even today. Just looking for an excuse to get into this franchise.
Shenmue would've had to be purchased twice by every Dreamcast owner for it to turn a profit.
The original games do many things that you don't see in open world games even today, it's only just now that other games are catching up. The control system might be dated since it was made with the Dreamcast in mind but I think the original games still have an interesting experience to show.It probably won't be as special and unique but rather just satisfy the fanbase clamoring for a sequel for the past decade. I think it would be great if Shenmue 3 turned out to be a bigger success than expected and Shenmue 4 became the modern sequel you would expect from this franchise. I'm not holding my breath, however.

$10k jacket tier is back up. Have at, folks.
Had a long weekend and finally was able to sit down and modify.

It's been fun.
Have you taken down your pledge yet? If you have, then someone else has picked it up already.
Stretch goals make less sense when the kickstarter money is a small percentage of the actual budget.
So we lost another jacket buy and gained a new one?
Those comments are funny.
THE JACKET IS BACK UP GUYS!
It is now. Let's see how long it stays available for.
Seems a dinner came back up, too.
You should have changed your tier a long time ago...
"Dam what the fuck seriously, we just again loose 10 000 dollars why ? "
What did you do. People are starting to freak out
Cry about it.
